The universal flood and the Ark of Noah cause problems for you because you deny the Word of God and choose not to exercise faith in God.
No, only because they are false stories that some use to alienate others and demonize the world. And because the word of ancient humans and your word are not the "Word of God". Also because you often justify injustice and evil with cherry picking and misrepresentation, for your own ideology. You cannot deny that those are serious problems.
Why does 2+2=4? Who knows. It just does.
Because that's the conventions for the language of mathematics that humans created. At least this is easily verifiable by counting on your fingers or using any other four objects. You cannot jump from this to an outlandish claim like the following:
How did God assemble all the animals and feed them? Well, God knows, but then again, He's God. There are a number of possible explanations, but listing them would be pure speculation. The simple fact is that you have chosen to not believe in the written account of history.
So miracle! because it's supposedly God's work, as it's simply impossible and demonstrated to be false:
- Myth has older human origin in polytheistic setting of the ancestors of the same region (Utnapishtim vs Noah, Marduk and Enki vs YHVH); we know that the Genesis book was compiled by humans using human traditions written by humans
- Authors apprently confused own land with the world, or it was symbolic
- Geological evidence contradicts claim of worldwide sudden flood
- Wooden boat of dimensions and weight would not hold together on water
- Impossible for a couple, or even 7 couples of each species to repopulate massively, lack of necessary genetic diversity
- Damage to vegetation and other animals would have prevented feeding of surviving animals in claimed time period
- Most animals would die if suddenly moved from their environment to the boat's location, the same if they were moved back, but there's also the issue of the number of years it would take for their migration to the boat, the world is much larger than the author's land
- No boat could hold that many animals, volume and mass, no human family could tend so many animals
- Source and destination of the water unspecified and implausible, compare to actual geological evidence of glaciers forming and melting, over hundred thousand years
- We know how animals have populated, diversified and adapted to their environments and that most extant animals we know were already present in the Iron and Bronze ages
- No evidence of massive global extinction in the Iron or Bronze ages
- How many more points are necessary to demonstrate the obvious naivety of the myth?
And your motivations are apparently clear from your first statement: you would like us to obey you, while you pretend to speak for a deity. Said deity is only one of many created by humans. Your ignorance and arrogance suggest that you should not be trusted to dictate how to live our lives.
