"First of all, the entire concept of NVC [Nonviolent Communication] is based on the idea that it is a part of human nature to desire compassionate communication with others. This goes against some of my fundamental beliefs as a Christian."

No! There's rocks!
So where does Matthew 5:39 fit into your Xinanity?
You remember:
'But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also'
This goes against some of my fundamental beliefs as a Christian.
What "fundamental beliefs as a Christian" are they - Mark 12:31: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."? MJM must have his/her own strange brand of Christianity.
This goes against some of my fundamental beliefs as a Christian.""
Do you normally communicate with others at gun, knifepoint, or through the use of clubs?
More honest than you intended to be, huh?
Oh, and "Read the New Testament sometime" seconded.
So if you're against nonviolent communication, you can only communicate with violence, right? I guess your conversations with people go like this...
Friend: Hi! Got your email. That sucks that you failed the test. Wanna get some ice cream? My treat!
You: *whips out sword* AHHHHH BURN IN HELL HEATHEN!!!
Actually, I think he or she is talking about the whole idea that we are all sinners and incapible of anything good. I don't think the poster was against the idea of non violent communication, but against the idea that it is part of our nature. It's still BS, but atleast not tottally crazy.
@Big Chicken Dinner;
Clearly, you don't know very much about Fundies, then. These guys are fanatics who interpret the O.T. literally, and pose a very real threat to society. To many of them, you are nothing more than a worthless heretic who deserves to die and burn in hell forever, while various demons shove their massive, barbed dicks up your ass constantly without stopping.
And yes, that is the description that many of them use. And it's probably what what gives them a woody; that, and fantasizing over the torture of pagans and atheists.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
