RAPE AND INCEST ARE NOT JUSTIFIABLE REASONS FOR ABORTION

"Spoken like a true pedophile, oops, I mean priest."
No offence, but stereotyping does lower you to their level ; )
I have never understood how someone who (suposedly) dedicated his life to Jesus could be so heartless - both towards the mother and the kid.
In either case, the mother probably isn't going to want the child. And no matter how hard she tries to hide it, the kid will know. Who would WILLINGLY condemn a kid to knowing (s)he wasn't wanted?
In the specific case of incest, that kid is going to have A LOT of physical and mental problems (if it even survives). Is this Bishop going to be there, day after day, to help the mother care for her severely disabled kid, or is he going to just say "this is your cross to bear" and turn away?
Well, in fairness, this appears in all caps because it is a subheading. The sentiment is still utterly offensive, however.

Well, PDC, if you are raped or engage in sex with a family member (other than your wife), I fully support your right not to have an abortion. On the other hand, I support right of every woman everywhere to have the option of a safe, medical abortion for whatever reason she and her doctor deem appropriate.
Incest? Yeah, maybe not justifiable. Maybe so. Let the incesters make the judgement call. Rape, on the other hand, is a justifiable reason. Incest, in the context I'm using, is intentional. Rape never is.
Why don't we rape him, force him to live with an unwanted parasite inside of him for nine months (reliving the emotional trauma every step of the way), suddenly force him to make huge, life-altering decisions, etc. etc. etc.
I feel bad for all the rape victims who get this crap shoved in their faces.

Not necessarily: psychological damage is likely if the kid learns about his/her origins, but a single occurance of incest doesn't raise the risk of birth defects by that much (well, it's still twice the default risk if I remember correctly, but...). It generally takes several generations of inbreeding with little or no fresh genetic material entering the gene pool before serious problems occur. Of course, if there is a dangerous recessive gene in the family the shit can hit the fan sooner.
When a person runs out of arguments for his outrageous opinions, he resorts to SCREAMING THEM INSTEAD, AS IT WOULD HELP TO MAKE IT MORE BELIEVABLE!
It is obvious that our little bishop is scared shitless because he know (even if he is not aware of it) that he is wrong! :)

I stand corrected. Though to my credit, I was thinking of very close biological relationships - like siblings or parent/child. (And those would most likely land under rape as well as incest.)
Alright, he's clearly a mouthbreathing capslock moron, but at least he's consistent - if abortion is murder, then rape and incest CANNOT be justification, because it's completely unjust to murder some innocent because of someone else's crime.
That's not how I see it, of course - I don't think it needs to be justified because I don't consider it life - but it is as I say consistent, and that's something.
I was suprized to see the hatred and anger on this page. God did give us the free will to choose. God did not want robots serving Him rather He wanted people to "want" to serve Him. So in choice which God has granted us, there must contain in that choice that which is oppossed to good. Meaning choice wouldn't be really choice if you could only choose one way. Why not pray about it or agree to disagree? I don't think much will change anyones mind unless they "want" or choose to listen. Let there be no mistake about it though, abortion is either right or it's wrong. Just like there is these letters are either black or they are not. Stop making things so hard on you. Even if you hate Christian's at least know that they have the freedom to express their views and opinions just as you do. So please don't work yourself up. Honestly no pun intended. One other thing is true and that is either there is a God or there is not. I know there's a God and I beleive He knows satan is laughing at you all slamming eachother. If your not a "bible thumper" so what. Why does Christianity matter so much to you? If youo don't beleive in God why spend so much time refuting that there us a God? I pray that all of you will be respectful to each other. That's the least we can all do is respect eachother!
A.P.:
Forgive me if I misunderstood your post, but you seem to be equating the choice of abortion to the choice between good or evil.
The act of abortion, while not something anyone actually wants to experience, is not good or evil in itself. In the first trimester, the blastocyst is basically just a collection of cells. No consciousness, no brain, just a few cells replicating themselves. Abortion is, I believe, illegal after the first trimester has ended.
Anyway, women who choose abortion need no justification. While I oppose the use of it as birth control, I support the option being available to women who cannot or desire not to, for whatever reason, raise a child in a suitable environment. It is their body, and it should be up to the women in question.
Lastly, in reply to the OP:
Your religion is not a justifiable reason for legislation.
If there is a god with a great plan for the universe, I think the inclusion of the word "care" in your surname is one of his inside jokes. Also, you are wrong. Please see your local community for a dose of 21st century morality.
Riiiight up until your dear girl gets raped, and then discovers she got knocked up as a result. Then, suddenly, it's a family road trip to Mexico!
Thing is, if you don't think abortion is right in other situations (because you think it is killing a person), why would you think rape or incest made it okay? Unless you think of denying abortion as being about 'punishing' women.
1. You're a man (so am I) so it's easy to say that without any true risk on your part. Fucker.
2. It's none of your fucking business what women do with their own bodies. Fucker.
3. Please stop shouting. Fucker.
I'll listen to that argument when you have been made pregnant after being raped by a relative, m'kay.
Incest can lead to severely malformed children, as the supply of DNA is too limited. The risk of the same error being present in both the woman's and the man's DNA set is very high. Plus, all children have the right to not be subjected to sex until they are about 16 years old.
Wow, how many Christians checked in on this one? Love one another, even the unborn child. There are many couples who would be happy to adopt a baby. No matter what sin caused the baby to be conceived.

Neither is just being there through no fault of your own (emphasis added):
Hosea 13:16: 'Samaria will be held guilty, For she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, Their little ones will be dashed in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open. '
Your so-called 'God' has a lot to answer for. Mayhaps that's the reason why he daren't show his face round here eh, 'Bish'?
It's the likes of you - and your evil attitudes - that conclusively proves the more than infinite superiority of Atheism.
Confused?
