James 2:17. Also James 2:14-26. 'Grace through "faith" only'? 'OSAS'? I don't think so. The Bible not only contradicts itself so many times as to render it useless, nay, unjustifiable, it has so many gaps in it's own doctrine, no wonder so many fundies prefer to fill such with their own bigotries disguised as 'opinions'. As Becky Fischer was wont to do, as do all her right-wing fundie ilk:

'Does Daniel 12:2 Really Teach Sodomy?'
@His4Life
"Hi everyone,
My name is Marissa and I am a relatively new believer. I was saved a little over one year ago and have since joined a small, nondenominational church. It's a great congregation - the people are loving, the music is uplifting and I feel like Christ is exalted every week. So far I have found all of my pastor's sermons to be insightful and Bible-based, but a comment he made this morning left me scratching my head.
He was talking about the judgment of unbelievers and used Daniel 12:2 as the text for his sermon. I agreed with most of what he said about the text, but he interprets the reference to "shame and humiliation" to mean that the unsaved will be sodomized before being cast into hell. He claimed in his sermon that at the time the Bible was written, it was common for conquering generals to abuse prisoners of war in this way and that it would mark a person as "unclean" and prevent them from re-entering their community. In the same way, he claims, the unsaved will be kept out of heaven and will be eternally seen as "unclean" in the eyes of God.
(Remember her 'claims' before, and what she 'thought' such were based on...?!)
I've done some digging online and in commentaries and can't really find anything to suggest this. Can anyone shed some light on this verse?"
(And check out the rest of the posts in the above linked thread, especially Trumpeter's. Wow, there's everyone in agreement with her; nope, no 'denominations' numbering the thousands in Christianity. The 'Body of Christ', the 'Church' is truly united, One, yessiree! [/hyper-sarcasm])
So the Bible - like this pathological lying crackwhore skank - with it's own lies (or just 'add your own bullshit that was never there in the first place', and call it 'reinterpretation') is simply a case of '[citation needed]'. Throughout, cover-to-cover.
Well, there you have it: we're not going to be eternally arseraped by demons, because it doesn't say so verbatim. It's all just bullshit from a pathological liar; but then, the Bible is nothing but lies from cover-to-cover. Thus all fundies are liars, as their 'beliefs' are based on lies, therefore they themselves admit that a 'God'/'Heaven'/'Hell' doesn't exist, just as we Atheists have been saying all along - and the fundies subconsciously agree with us.
As liars don't have the right to have anything they say/think/'believe'/claim acknowledged as fact by all normal sane people, therefore the reverse of what they claim is so:
We Atheists are going to heaven regardless of if we 'believe' or not. We're not going to be 'eternally arseraped by demons', but instead we get to sex up hot angels (female for male straights/bi's/lesbians; males for female straights/bi's/gays). It will happen; after all, one person's 'reinterpretation' of the Bible is just as good as another's. Amirite?!
Every time the fundie 'claims' bad things will happen to those they themselves...er, I mean 'God' (and soooooo not the fundies themselves! [/sarcasm]) 'hates', will actually happen to them. Prove. Me. Wrong.. Just as you can't spell 'Fundamentalist Christian' without the word Mental, you can't spell 'Believer' without the word Lie.
I refer you to the aforementioned church sign. Who's right? Who's wrong...?!
And as for who's wrong, in a way, the fundies are right when they say the 'Last Days are approaching'. Certainly after what happened last month, politically - and considering how the fundies themselves are now disowning most of the other denominations (who they previously claimed to be all one gestalt 'Church'; the 80% that made the US a 'Christian Country'; as a certain 'someone' who shall remain clueless previously liked to make that 'claim'...?!) - nope, no abandoning their usual granite-solid 'Convictions', nosiree! 'Expediency'? Not in the fundies' lexicon, nosiree, certainly with Mittens being their 'Anyone but Obama' and not previously a 'RINO' candidate, nosiree! [/hyper-sarcasm]. Post-Obama's 2nd term win, The Repubicans are disintegrating, the GOP are a spent force politically (Faux News & Rush Limburger are now an irrelevance), and it's acknowledged that as new generations are coming up within the usually 'Socially Conservative' families, who are rejecting the bigotries of their parents etc, becoming more secular and tolerant, right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity is indeed seeing it's Last Days. The Religious Reich's powerbase has been destroyed. God has been - and will continue to be - voted out.
Those new generations are equating 'God' with Santa Claus. They're growing up, and realising that both are just as fictional. And there's fuck all that the fundies can do about it. They - and their unjustifiable right-wing fundie 'beliefs' & the bigotries based on such which had no right to exist in the first place - are dying. Good.
We left-wing Atheists have won. 'Culture War'? It never fucking existed; if anything,if it did, you fundies ultimately did our work for us, via everything you say/do/think/'believe', via the P.R. crazy traincrash of FAIL that is you fundies yourselves, and how your continually committing seppuku via your 'beliefs' & their (ultimately FAILed) impact on socio-politics were perceived by not only the sane population of the US, but beyond...:
'Stop being the stupid party'
-Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal to fellow Republicans
'The world is laughing at us'
-Donald Fart
...and on the subject of laughing:

(^ I guess that's why Jesus - and thus God - didn't condemn homosexuality in the NT!)
Moral: Want to 'threaten' us with 'Turn or Burn', go right ahead, fundies. That's all you're left with, nay, reduced to; essentially 'My dad'll beat you up!' (only this dad of yours is the ultimate absentee father). Meanwhile, we Atheists have nothing to threaten you with. And that - Nothing, as in complete neurological oblivion via hypoxia when you die; no 'Soul' or comforting 'Afterlife' to go to, and remember: that which is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence - is what truly terrifies you fundies, thus your need for the comforting security blankie called 'faith'.
So you go right ahead, give us the full burst of 'You'll burn in HELL!', if it'll give you any possible sense of 'satisfaction' (just because we won't blindly accept anything you say, on spec, based on this irrelevant, pointless, and unjustifiable concept called 'Faith'), that is. But to paraphrase the athlete Usain Bolt (as he's said about his critics):
'You can say these things, but that's all you can do: say them.'
Post-2012 London Olympics, said critics are suddenly conspicuous by their absence; only drowned out by their silence. And speaking of absence, re. this nonexistent 'God', time for you fundies to equally put up (with evidence - that is potentially beliefs-annihilating, but that's not our problem - to our satisfaction) or shut up.
Re. that sign:

Like I say: 'Who's right? Who's wrong?*' No doubt those at the Rose City Park church - especially Pastor Tom Tate - in Oregon, would say that those who disagree with said sign are themselves wrong in everything they say/do/think/'believe'. Otherwise, the thousands of denominations of Christianity, as well as the likes of Fred Phelps & his Westboro Baptist Church, wouldn't exist.
*- The 2nd post by Acts5:41 - especially the 2nd sentence in the first line - is extremely relevant in this case. Certainly as to the whole justifications for the so-called 'Great Commission'. As in it is completely unjustifiable, and the sooner any form of 'proseltysing' is made illegal, the better. Fundies themselves go on & on about 'Evolution being forced upon kids in all US schools (post-Kitzmiller vs. Dover) after all, ergo, if the cap fits and all that jazz...!
'We won't think in your churches, you don't pray in our schools'. That phrase exists for a reason. Matthew 6:6? Fine. But it's gonna be a fucking tight squeeze in that school locker, if you're gonna need to pray...! >:D
