... the calendar has remained basically the same with some minor changes happening when we went from a Julian to a Gregorian calendar or vice versa... Its really a miracle if you think about it and I almost believe that God has had a hand in maintaining the weekly cycle through the years. Theres certainly no logical reason to hold onto a 7 day week cycle. A ten day cycle would probably work better but the fact we have stayed on the present system speaks for a possible supernatural support of it.

A ten day cycle would probably work better
Notwithstanding the astronomical, stock-market-crashing cost of conversion in all the systems, this would mean 8 days of work between weekends. Are you really up for that Mr. Larmore? No? Then shut the hell up.
On the plus side, he did at least confess divine support for illogical pursuits, even though he did so while failing at logic itself.
No. It speaks for the huge weight of Tradition in our societies, and how Europa once ruled the world back in the 18th, enforcing their habits in the rest of the world.
Did you know ? In Egypt, Sunday is a working day.
If it works, don't fuck with it. It's nice to see he admits to the Julian calender as exisisting since most these guys think Christians created the tabulation of time.
Since the Julian calender was the same amount of days with the additional leap year day in place I guess the Olympian Gods must be the true religious belief
The ten day week was tried in revolutionary France and, IIRC, in the early Soviet Union.
Neither really worked, although I am in favour of five day weekends.
"or vice versa"? It's clear that you know EXACTLY what you're talking about, Jimbo. [/sarcasm]
Those minor changes were because the year is not exactly 365 days with exactly 24 hours in each. IF there was a omnipotent deity behind it, it ought to be more exact, really.
You are aware that there are different calendars in use today, right?
“... the calendar has remained basically the same with some minor changes happening when we went from a Julian to a Gregorian calendar or vice versa...”
You don’t know and can’t be bothered to look it up?
“Its really a miracle if you think about it”
Inertia. People are not comfortable with change. No need to invoke a deity to explain it.
“and I almost believe that God has had a hand in maintaining the weekly cycle through the years."
Then why isn’t the Earth’s Revolution evenly divisible by seven?
Why is there an extra 1.25 days if the 7-day cycle is important?
“Theres certainly no logical reason to hold onto a 7 day week cycle.”
The expense of change comes quickly to mind.
“A ten day cycle would probably work better.”
Even with a four-day weekend that’s six working days straight. With a two-day weened, that’s 8 days of labor.
Not everything needs to be metric.
“but the fact we have stayed on the present system speaks for a possible supernatural support of it.”
The fact that we have a month named after Julius Caesar speaks for inertia. The power of tradition. The fact that September isn’t the 7th month of the year speaks to the calendar NOT being supported by a god.
The fact that months are named after gods OTHER than Jehovah speaks against YOUR god being involved.
The fact that days of the week are named after NORSE gods speaks fucking VOLUMES against your thesis, here.
Confused?
