I hate to be the bearer of bad news but religion of some sort will always be apart of it. You people are are downright mentally ill. You dont want the church to have anything to say about it but yet you have already proven that you will do whatever you have to to silence the church and yet you want a “church” wedding. Oh, and there is no such thing as “separation of church and state” in our constitution. The constitution does say it cannot form a state religion. Religion will ALWAYS have a say in government whether you and the rest of the mentally ill queers like it or not. Maybe thats why you people are trying so hard to have your perversion legislated (shoved down our throats) every chance you get. You people are simply ridiculous.

Religious leaders have enjoyed a tyranny of the majority for centuries by creating hot buttons and pushing them repeatedly. Then, they scream blue murder if they don't automatically get their way. Well, since it does say that the Gov. cannot (basically) force people to abide by the beliefs of another, the moment any religious belief becomes a law of any kind, the Gov. is violating that pesky First Amendment.
So, you know, any attempt to appeal to religion as a reason to deny people equality? Quite illegal. (unless you want to accept the chance that it'll become mandatory that you pray facing Mecca 5 times a day... because that "separation of Church and State" is there to protect EVERYONE!)

A site that accuses gay people of being the real bullies where the posters say terrible things about gay people. It seems they're all lacking in self-awareness.
Homosexuality is not a mental illness, every major first world psychological and psychiatric association can tell you that, so that lie will not be true no matter how often you repeat it. Most gay people don't give a single fuck about getting married in a church, they just want the marriage certificate from the government that will give them the 1,000 or so rights they're being denied for stupid reasons.
The constitution doesn't say anything about the government not forming a state religion, it's merely implied in the first amendment to anyone with any reading comprehension. The one using the phrase "separation of church and state" was Thomas Jefferson, who helped found the country. And of course, there's that pesky part of the Treaty of Tripoli, which was passed into law, that says the US isn't a Christian nation. Sure, religion does get a say in government, but it's not supposed to, and your influence is fading fast (though not fast enough for my tastes).
Gay people are not "shoving" anything down your throat. You are the one bullying gay people. You are trying to force your personal beliefs on them through the law and denying them their rights and dignity. No one is falling for your pathetic attempt to play the victim.

1. Call gay people mentally ill perverts and evil sinners who deserve eternal torture and compare homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality. Deny gay people the right to get a secular marriage, openly participate in the military (which is thankfully not an issue any more), adoption and try to pass laws that allow open discrimination against them.
2. Gay people and their allies rightfully call you out for being a closed-minded homophobic bigot who bullies gay people.
3. Get your poor widdle feelings hurt for being called out on your bigotry. Insist that gay people are somehow the real bullies even though you're denying them basic human rights and dignity and telling malicious lies about them.

Your right seperation of Church and state is not in out constitution, it is however in our bill of rights. the idea of freedom of religion. By allowing the states to support one religion they are taking away that freedom.

The government does not have the right to deny people their freedom based on their sex, the color of their skin, or their sexual orientation. You and your religions to do just that. Again.
It's inadvisable for the church to hate a group of people, but more importantly, gays want to be themselves *in spite* of what the church says, not be who they aren't *because* of the church.
Non church gay weddings are just as much an option and nobody ever said that they weren't.

It says much more than that. The US Constitution forbids the establishment of religion. The words "establishment of religion" don't mean what many think they do. They don't mean simply "form" a state religion. In England, the Anglican Church was considered the "established religion", meaning the one officially recognized by the state. So the Constitution forbids the giving of any official recognition or support for religion by the government.

I don't know of anyone who has tried to force a church to participate religiously in a same-sex wedding ceremony. That actually would violate the Constitution's "free exercise" clause. Even the most devout of Baptist fundamentalists can't sue a Roman Catholic priest for refusing to officiate at their wedding. What people have done is demanded that a church that chooses to rent its facilities to the secular general public do so for everyone on the same basis.

I tend to the view the Church should be disestablished but I can't say it would be very high on my list of priorities if I was running the show.

Religion should be apart of government, yes. No church should have a say in what the government does. The Constitution spells this out so plainly even the lowliest pinhead shouldn't be able to deny it. Think, what if it was a church or religion you disagreed with influencing government action and laws? What then, smarty pants?

And there is no christian, bible cross or Jesus in the constitution. But there is a separation of church and state. Check out the amendments. The earlier ones.
