The Church of England is totally out of step with the vast majority of Christians on this point. We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago. The Church of England should not be apologising for preaching what God has stated in His Word.
It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.

Geez, they're just getting to the CoE apologizing to Darwin *now*?
That happened *days* ago.
The fundies are getting slow... Well, slow outside their heads anyway. Either that, or this one was sitting in queue for a long time.
"We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago."
because that's the only belief that makes one a Christian
What percentage of the Christian population are actually afflicted with Garvan's level of stupidity? Does anyone have any verifiable stats on this?
Protip: Avoid phrases like "the vast majority" or "a well-known fact". They are merely signs that say, Bullshit Ahead.
"We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago."
And by "Christians", I mean my immediate relatives and a few guys on the internet forums I go to.
"It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands."
Ahahahahahahaha. I suddenly don't feel so bad about America. Every country has their pathological morons...
We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago.
No.
You should say it correctly:
You bible believing christian fundamentalists believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago.
You might be louder than mainstream christianity and you might have more political power due to the fact that you are better organized, but nevertheless you are only a minority among the chritians in the world (and maybe even just a minority among christians in america ;) )
The majority of the christians doesn´t share your opposition against the theory of evolution.
Your "well known fact" that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft in the Galapagos is just as much a "well known fact" as the "fact" that the earth was created 6,000 years ago. The major difference is that the age of the earth "fact" was pulled out of the ass of a Bishop of the Church of England a couple of hundred years ago. The Darwin related "fact" was pulled out of someone's ass on Sept 21, 2008. Both however carry the same resultant odor.
"It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands."
Hahaha! Why can't you be like the last fundy I talked to who had lots of 'little known facts' about Darwin. No, you have to call your paranoid gibberish "well known".
If by "We Christians" you mean "We minority of Christians located primarily in the rural parts of America and the UK who follow a fundamentalist splinter sect derived mostly from the teachings of a few men about a hundred or so years ago and yet have an influence on the world way out of proportion to our true numbers", then yes! You are out of step with the rest of the church!
It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.
First I have ever heard of it. Of course, this 'fact' is only circulated among Fundies, to keep them ignorant.
It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.
No, it's complete BS believed by an handful of gullible creationists who read something like it in a creationist screed called "The Evolution Cruncher" by Vance Ferrell and proceeded to spread it to their stupid brethren on the Internet. The only thing remotely close to this nonsense is a claim that Darwin witnessed a witch doctor seance while in South America.
The Church of England is totally out of step with the vast majority of Christians on this point. We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago.
Vast majority? More like really loud minority, YEC's in no way account for the majority of christians, unless you change the criteria of who is a christian, that is.
The Church of England should not be apologising for preaching what God has stated in His Word.
I have read the bible cover to cover multiple times, and not once did I see the part where "god" mentioned evolution or Darwin.
It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.
Well known by who? How far up your ass did you have to reach for that tidbit? Are you people so out of rebuttals that your only recourse is to cry "witch"?
We Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago.
All two billion of you, hm? Fortunately, this is not the case.
It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.
OK, fundies, let me explain this as clearly as I can: Science is not a religion.
It doesn't matter if Al Gore uses a lot of energy. It doesn't matter if Darwin repented on his deathbed. You know why? Because science is not about "OMG, ________ said so and is an awesome person, so it must be true!!11". It's not about "my prophet is better than your prophet". Science is not about blindly following books, prophets and messiahs. Science is about evidence . If I make empirical experiments and come to rational, objective conclusions based on the outcome, you can say all the bad things you want about me - because the evidence will still be there .
That's why all the smear in the world is not going to help you one iota.
I spend 13 years at a Church of England (Anglican) school and never once had creationism preached, even in religion classes. We were taught evolution in biology classes, and in religion classes we were taught that many parts of the Bible were either allegories, or primative people trying to explain the world for themselves in the terms they understood.
This fact is so well-known to but a few like Garvan.
Your bible states a six-day creation window but does not state a 6,000 year time period. That was pulled out of the Bishop Ussher's anal orifice.
A circle has no edges. That is a well known fact. The vast majority of people have hair. See that's how those words are supposed to work. What you meant was:
The Church of England is totally out of step with a small niche of Christians on this point. Those Christians believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago. The Church of England should not be apologising for preaching what God has stated in His Word.
It is a little believed paranoid superstition that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.
'It is a well known fact that Darwin dabbled in witchcraft when touring the Galapagos islands.'
Where's the citation/proof, asshole? Or did you hear that line of tripe from some brain-dead pastor?
We idiots believe God created the world in 6 days, around 6,000 years ago.
Problem solved.
Errr...honey, I have news for you...you might wanna sit down.
They were here first. You guys are the ones who twisted the Bible and the teachings from the original.
News to me. I checked online just to be sure, (after all Newton was a staunch Christian), it is just possible that Darwin had dabbled in witchcraft, but not a mention. Usually fundies use a bit of truth and twist it to their own beliefs, but this time 100% made up. Getting desperate.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
