[Heavy work pants were essential when women took over men's jobs at factories during WWII.]
Key thought here - Women took over the men's jobs! I understand that companies were very short-staffed during WWII and women were called upon to keep the country going - BUT - as soon as the men came home those women should have headed back home to fulfill their original purpose as keepers at home! However, that is not the topic here - just wanted to get that thought in there. There is NO reason why the ladies could not do those jobs properly attired as a lady. It was just simpler to put on the man's pants than to become creative in their ladylike dress...... Although these women were hard workers at their new jobs, they failed miserably at remaining the ladies they once were.

I seldom swear, this is the first time I've ever sworn in a post on the internet: Mrs Debbie is a complete fuckwit.
Even if, as I suspect, she's just a Bro Randy sockpuppet..
Mrs. Debbie and others like her are the perfect women for the fundie man, even when circumstances forced them to work as equals for the greater good they would still be inferiors, at least mentally.
Though I doubt Mrs. Debbie has seen an assembly line from her kitchen or her room where she probably has lived most of her adult life, there are safety reasons for dressing in a certain manner (in addition to the impact on productivity if the men try to take a peek inside their proper attire ).
I would've loved to see her try to do work on aircraft assembly in a dress. Try climbing ladders, crawling around the interior while holding a drill, and bending over to rivet metal in a dress.
The military was at war. It was easier and quicker to simply require those women to wear pants rather than develop prototypes for "creative ladylike dress." Time was of the essence, and figuring out how to design a dress that worked for the job was not a priority.
Debbie, learn a thing or two about the military, and grow some common sense.
I don't know if my great grandmothers worked in factories during the war, but if they did, they'd probably tell you to go fuck yourself and your "ladylike dresses" Mrs. Debbie. Our country was in a serious war back then, and keeping the country going while the men fought was a far larger priority than "OMG! feminine modesty".
Your attitude is archaic.
My wife would be the first one to tell you to shut the fuck up, and she stayed home and took care of our kids until they were in high school. Her choice, not mine.
She would be extremely annoyed with anyone telling her she couldn't do whatever she liked with her career. Come to think of it, so would my daughter.
If you want to raise mindless little female fundie drones, go ahead and try. It might even stick with some of them, as it obviously did with you.
But don't be surprised when one of your daughters rebels once she discovers the slavery you have in store for her.
I always try really hard to be polite when I post responses, however stupid the original post is but I just have to say to Mrs Debbie why don't you just FUCK OFF AND DIE? You are stupid and completely ignorant of the utterly fantastic job ALL women did during the war to keep Britain and America going. I really hope none of them read your utter drivel!
Key thought here - women proved they *weren't* "men's jobs," because women could do them. OK, giving prostate exams might be an exception, but you *could* do that wearing a dress.
I'm sorry, I refuse to believe this anymore. I never underestimate the power of fundie stupidity in large numbers and their sheep-like quality in all thinking alike, but no way! Everybody over there writes in exactly the same style and uses the same phrases. There may be eight or ten naive teenagers writing in, but the rest is Brother Randy and a bunch of sockpuppets!
I love how some pants outline the curves of hte girl and gives them more junk in the trunk, sadly only men should have such clothing to define their asses. It's what god wanted.
I find it funny that Ms. Debbie decided to not include her view on high heels once being a part of men's attire and are now for women.
There is NO reason why the ladies could not do those jobs properly attired as a lady.
You've never worked in a factory, have you? Loose, baggy clothing like skirts can get caught in machinery, no matter how creative someone gets with them. And what about the Women Airforce Service Pilots, who flew every plane built by the United States, and did so for everything but actual combat? It might be possible to fly a plane while wearing a dress, but the cockpits tended to be cramped, and I have a feeling that nobody wanted to risk getting the wrong instruments snagged in baggy clothing. Wearing practical clothing so they could do their jobs was much more important than being "ladylike".
they failed miserably at remaining the ladies they once were.
At least they did something worthwhile with their lives, rather than sitting at home and passing judgement on anything that didn't fit their worldview.
I'm the poster Mrs. Debbie is responding to and I mentioned the whole lovely relationship betwixt machinery and loose clothing. She just ignored it though. *le sigh*
No one will give an answer about high heeled shoes because they don't have one. I tried phrasing it in the form of a question (because no debate on T4C and I don't wanna be trolled), but no dice.
Another thing I love about Mrs. Debbie is her opinion that, "The KJV reigns supreme over all other Christian texts, except for Timothy 2:9, which you must go back to the original Greek to truly understand."
I weep at the illogic on that site, but SOMEONE has to ask questions. Without the occasional troll, the entire site would just be everyone agreeing with Bro. Randy.
@ BrianX: Every thread basically goes the same way.
1) Someone asks a question
2) Little teen people give their horribly misguided opinions
3) Bro. Randy/Mrs. Kellie/Mrs. Debbie speak their piece
4) The rest of the thread is either poor fundie teens agreeing with Bro and the two Mrses or laggers just getting to Step 2
That is unless there are trolls in which case
5) Troll provides a reasonable arguement or asks a difficult question.
6) The fundies ignore it or bombard it with illogic.
7) Usually Randy bans someone for good measure.
I had a lot of free time when I made the account (not so much now), so I might just sacrifice my T4C account and be done with them for good. I'd like to open people's eyes, but I think T4C'ers are beyond hope.
Although these women were hard workers at their new jobs, they failed miserably at remaining the ladies they once were.
Why should women anywhere have to live up to your Puritanical/Victorian standards of how "ladies" should dress or act? If a woman has the knowledge and skill to work at a particular job, then by all means, she should do so.
Not really a response to the post but just something that's been going through my head- if Mrs Kellie and Mrs Debbie are really such true believers in women being submissive to men and all that crap, how can they feel it's right to call themselves Mrs Debbie and Kellie? Shouldn't they be Mrs Randy and whatever Debbie's husband's name is?
It was just simpler to put on the man's pants than to become creative in their ladylike dress......
OK - once you can design welding goggles, oxygen fed respirators and leather gauntlets that both satisfy safety regulations and qualify as "feminine" (Outside of Amsterdam, anyway :-P), we'll do things your way.
they failed miserably at remaining the ladies they once were
Ohnoes!! Anything but that!
I can tell you've never worn a dress around industrial machinery. What was the name of that old movie where the heroine got her dress stuck in a shredder and it almost ate her crotch? It involved lots of computer chatting and some frying pan violence.
I couldn't help but think of the shredder scene when I read that. "Not the crotch!"image
Jezebel : Your coment won the thread for me. Everything I wanted to say, only succinctly. Glory!
And my great-grandmother also worked as a "Rosie" during the war. That didn't prevent her from still having children after the war, whatever Mrs. Debbie might think "ladies" should do.
Yes, obviously you couldn't walk around the wings of a B-52, popping rivets, unless you were wearing stilleto heels.
The woman I love wears pants, isnt too fond of skirts, and always be far more of a woman than you, Mrs.Debbie.
A real lady THINKS.
Maybe some women liked having "men's jobs" and didn't want to go back to be housewives? And yes, if they had worn "lady-like outfits," they probably would have been maimed or killed. I don't know about you, but I think it was a GOOD thing that the ladies changed their minds. No, they were no longer the submissive doormats they once were, they were now independent-thinking, confident women.
I used to attend a very conservative Baptist church. At a conference, the girls were forced to wear below the knee skirts, even on a trip to six flags. I tried my best to make my point that skirts are not modest. I shouldn't have to restrict myself to what coasters I can go on if the guys don't have to. So I picked the ones that buckled between the legs, and hiked my ankle length skirt to just barely covering my skivves. The guys didn't mind, but oh! The looks I got from the other girls. This is a little off topic, but dangit...skirts don't mean modesty, and they don't mean femininity. Prostitutes wear skirts too. :P
I'm betting on Mrs Debbie being an alias for Bro. Randy,,,, she's just deluded enough to be the same person.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
