According to Charles Darwin, the races differed because of sexual selection rather than 'natural' factors. So it is natural for Chinese to find Chinese gorgeous and Caucasians to find Caucasian gorgeous. I have trouble understanding how anyone could consider a schvartza gorgeous, even schvartzas don't think schvartzas are gorgeouos. Whether or not this is true I don't know, but I do know that I don't find Chinese women to be gorgeous very often and you are free to keep them all for yourself AFAIC.

Sexual selection -is- a natural factor, just like kin selection. It -isn't- the same as natural selection since sexual selection is about traits the chooser in the relationship finds attractive about the choosee and natural selection is about traits that affect physical survival. And while they act on different things, they are not independent of each other. I'm not sure what this has to do with keeping 'races' separate.

I don't think it's about keeping them separate either. It is a mechanism though by which different looks in different populations prevailed - or in other words: why different people from different parts of the world look different.
Of course air travel is rapidly changing that. Humans are known for one thing; they have sex with other humans regardless of the colour of their skin, hair and eyes or the shapes of their noses, lips et cetera.

I can't help but read rants against "mixing races" and think that, if they had their way, we'd all be drooling, inbred morons & sterile as a species within a dozen generations.
Then, I realize that the effects of inbreeding are there specifically to weed out these peoples' genetic code from the healthy population... and that makes me feel a little better.
While it is true that people generally lean toward their own race for partners and this most likely has something to do with biology, but it's also not a rule.
Count the number of white people who find Chinese and Japanese extremely attractive. There's a shit load. creepy how many actually.
