The reason why is:

Philippians 4:8 Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things.

We've been to free-for-all boards. We know what it is to curse, to grumble, to complain, sin and to be at odds with God. There is enough to help other believers in 'getting there' without unbelievers getting in the way. Imagine for a minute what it would be like to walk into a church service and vent your thoughts and some of your hate. I know that doesn't appeal to you, and you would never do that. Its a little like that. That some cannot control themselves and troll their way onto a board only proves their opposition to the above scripture and many others. All you do is confirm what the Lord says. And because of that, and the history of trolls, you won't be given a seat at the table. Next time, try dealing with "your" perverse and unbelieving heart and realize there are many out there who know what your life is about. Then you may be able to sit and listen to what the Lord says, turn to Him and be cleansed from all that filth. This would be a start.

The priest has a choice of actions:

He can stop the service, sit down with the stranger, put his arm around him, and say, "You seem to be troubled. Tell me about it."

Or he can have the slob thrown out and carry on preaching to the converted.

I believe I know which is the more Christian behaviour, and the more loving.

Didn't Jesus himself prefer the company of publicans and sinners to that of the self-righteous priesthood?

I honestly don't think you need to proselytize. Many of us are ex-Christians. I know I was one for over a quarter of a century. That being said, if one's beliefs are true, they should be able to hold up to scrutiny. When your beliefs are built on faith rather than fact it makes for a really poor foundation that can easily crumble if a person is susceptible to outside influences. All it took me was a little critical thought and study to have that house of cards come crashing down around me. The reason those types of boards need to have such strict moderation is because dissenting views are dangerous to beliefs that don't coincide with reality.

For one, "getting in the way" is a nice way to describe what some trolls actually do.

And the question is directed at (you), would you do it?

If you would then whatever would happen to you, so be it.

If you wouldn't, then you know why I said it, and you would not scheme to get into a private fellowship that is like a para-church either, and we have understanding.

It comes down to having some manners and tact, along with being an adult and showing respect. If one cannot do that, than whatever happens to you will be deserving, and very likely those same traits which prompt this secret behavior on the net will find you in real life as well. We all suffer for stupid behavior.

To answer your scenario directly, no priests involved, we are not catholic. The man would be removed and advised to wait till after the service to get the appropriate help that he would need, if indeed he wanted it. This would be for the benefit of the man and the congregation. To carelessly enter into the things of God can be deadly.

More than likely he would 'vent his spleen' and maybe his belly, curse some more and stomp off like a child.

Besides, your judgment of "christian behavior" is not very sound, considering you are not one, or have abandoned the Lord, or whatever it is you've done.

Jesus hung around with sinners, yet he was without sin. I hang around with sinners, some probably a lot worse than y'all. That doesn't mean when the congregation is praising the Lord or hearing His word proclaimed is the time to 'put up' with the typical sinners antics.

Let's see "God is my Maker", many over here are Christians, we do understand, BUT we don't presume to call ourselves the "only true Christians" or insult anyone who accepts the rights of other Christians to believe in God by their own methods. This is the problem with fundies, they cannot accept that others may believe in God and not accept their own narrow version of God's word. #733200 We frequently see cases where you people at RR have turned away others who disagree with your POLITICAL(not religious) views(your God is a conservative Republican view, not really Biblical, placing your own political views in God's mouth) and liberal or moderate CHRISTIANS who disagree with your narrow view of God as less than loving, tolerant or charitable. We do not mock God, we mock those who are arrogant enough to think that they are the only ones that he speaks to, and that only they can determine what his word's mean. You may worship God in your own way, that is your own personal relationship with Christ, but to suggest that others are not worthy or "true Christians" because their own relationship with God leads them to a more liberal or moderate view of their fellow man(or they don't believe in Rapture like 90% of the world's CHRISTIAN denominations) is the ultimate in arrogance and self-righteous smugness.

The argument that RR doesn't allow frank discussions is both silly and intentionally misleading. All one has to do is take the time to actually read through the Apologetics forum, at the very least.

Unless, that is, by "frank discussion" you mean one peppered with profanities and outright attacks on our beliefs, or when someone enters into discussion under false pretenses

That is what isn't tolerated. When it takes that route, the offenders are shown the door. It really isn't any different than thousands of other private discussion boards out there which operate in the same manner.

With well over 49,000 threads and 9,000 members there, do you really choose to believe that there is no discussion on most of the topics brought up here?

There are many atheists, agnostics and others who don't share our beliefs who have been active members for years. They are there for sincere discussion and choose to respect how the board operates.

It is not such a stretch to assume you are an agnostic or atheist, considering the venom given in this forum.

I'll ask you outright, do you believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior? That He died and was resurrected? That He now sits at the right hand of the Father, till all His enemies are put down?

If so, I apologize. Tis an easy thing for me, and should be for you.

If not, then why are you so offended?

As a believer in everything above, I am not easily offended. I know the truth of men. Their deceptions, their deceptive hearts, all the godlessness which is so prevalent in unregenerate men. You can see I am not that way, I am honest and forthright.

It seems that you are referencing yourself as a believer, so I'll address you as such.

Tell me, what do you have to say to all those here who are not? Do you warn them of their impending fate? Do you contend for their souls? Or do you just fight with professed believers, such as myself.

I don't give one iota about me or my precious feelers, they will heal. I care only about those here who are on a fast track to hell, and they don't seem to care.

If you are a believer, we can dispense now with talking to each other, and move on to the task at hand, which is to address those who care not for the Lord, what He thinks, how He feels about those here who speak their ungodly mind towards Him.

I am a Christian. My girlfriend, Bless her, is a Christian with a fundamentalist parent.

I do not believe in The Rapture. Because I do not believe in The Rapture, I have been labeled variously heretic, heathen, etc by some other fundamentalist Christians who believe in the Rapture. I have been persecuted. My girlfriend's mother is one of those people.

She herself used to not believe in The Rapture. Now after years upon years of having it shoved down her throat by her mother, she now professes that she 'always believed in the rapture'. Apparently accepting The Rapture and refuting Evolution isn't enough for her mother anymore. Now every time there's any kind of evangelical meeting (she was in the Billy Graham festival chorus this weekend) her mother expects her to go up there with the new converts as one of them. Being here has helped me cope with the presence of Fundamentalism in my life, and also given me many people to pray for.

I've gone down to RR. It's not as bad as I thought it was, although there are a fair share of extremist members. I plan on speaking on Apologetics some time soon. There is a very good reason Jesus was a carpenter.

Granted, there are angry, sometimes highly annoying Atheists here, but there are also reasonable atheists as well. Difficult people come in any group no matter what their label may be.

A simple cursory look at your website reveals that your people do NOT believe that the 9th commandment applies to your lying political pronouncements about Obama to forward your neo-con political agenda(which is ridiculous on a SUPPOSEDLY religious site). You have a lot of gall to place your right-wing political beliefs into God's mouth(and suggest you are the only people God speaks to). Since your a believer, I'm not surprised you've been persecuted at some point along the way. There are some people who take things to the extreme at RR, and the board does its best to help them to get into balance. Its not easy.

We lay down guidelines for normal, adult conversation. We don't allow discussion about your latest dreams, we don't allow people to run around claiming God's wrath is falling upon the US, or Iran for that matter. About the only thing I see that you take issue with is our end times views, and you are welcome to yours. After years of discussion over pre-mid-post, it was decided to not defend pre anymore, and let others go elsewhere to argue the point.

Being a christian is very similar to what I posted to Mr. Dullard. Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? You've been duped my friend by these people who are themselves dull in hearing the Lord. What I say or what RR says does not matter in regards to salvation. What God says matters. He laid it out in His word, consult His word and quit listening to men. (whether that is your mother or girlfriend or people at this site)

Whether you believe in the rapture or not doesn't qualify as an issue with salvation. It does qualify whether you desire to remain in the fellowship of RR though, in regards to conversation. Plenty of people post there who are mid or post trib, and they understand that arguing that point is just not worth it. Either way, they all agree we are in strange and unnerving times, and we look up because our redemption draws near.

This website is a mocking representation of God's people, and is run and overrun by unbelievers. My suggestion to you is to separate yourself from it in your fellowship. I'll leave you with this, it speaks clearly on the matter.

Word games? No. I simply paraphrased Rapture Ready's own doctrinal statement:

'Satan, under the permission of God, led our first parents into transgression, thereby accomplishing their moral fall.

'The eternal Son of God came into this world. He retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man.

'He became the divinely provided sacrificial Lamb and took away the sin of the world, bearing the holy judgments against sin which the righteousness of God must impose.

'We believe in a literal hell of fire: the place of eternal conscious punishment.'

Frankly, I prefer my version. It makes no more sense, but it has the virtue of brevity.

I know many believers who would happily declare their love and devotion to Christ. I respect their honesty and generosity. But I very much doubt that you would consider them to be 'True Christians', and for that I am very grateful.

Once again I see troll, you have the arrogance to claim that YOU, not God may determine what is a sin for other Christians and that they must abide by your personal beliefs. And the Bible may be a guidepost, but it is a contradictory guidepost. Two pages in, it tells two different creation stories with major differences! I mean we can accept the absurdity of "eating shrimp, playing football(pigskin), and wearing glasses in church" as abominations worthy of death like homosexuality or we can accept Christ is a loving and charitable God who rewrote the narrowness and bigotry of the Jewish "chosen people religion", created an all inclusive, tolerant religion, and forgives us our sins. As you pointed out, a person must face God for themself and if loving another human being(even of your own sex) is the worst sin one has, I would find it hard to accept that a loving forgiving God would punish him beyond a hypocrite who lies to others to get elected(or knowing broadcasts those lies) or starts a war(and kills his own and other people) under false pretences for profit for himself and his bigtime contributors. Is the abortion of unborn, unformed fetuses worse than the starvation and deaths in unneccessary wars of millions of already born, living men, women, and children(or the death from lack of insurance to heal them in this country) in this world because of our government's(or their own government's) catering to greed of the wealthy? Yeah, the ultimate question is "What would Jesus do?" Which sin is more unforgiveable in your eyes? As a Christian you must decide with your personal conscience and YOUR faith. This is MY OPINION of Christ. I would never presume to push it down your or my fellow posters here's throats. Each Christian searches that in their own heart, and NO ONE, you or me has the right to declare themselves the only "true Christians" and say that the other guy is a false Christian because he disagrees. The myth is everything for you, it seems to me. The myth has been pushed by priestly scoundrels since your book was first edited and collated. It is a trap. It's clever of you all to propagate another spurious myth, the rapture, as a device to pull in the gullible.

It was easier in the past, when the god-boys in the pulpits could claim to know everything. These days, their BS is revealed within a few seconds of them opening their yaps.

The message is universal, eternal and inviolable. Kissing a preacher's butt (and giving him your money) is completely superfluous to understanding the message.

Like Jefferson, I reject your book, your god, and any of the religions that were spawned from them. The message remains.

I truly don't know what you are talking about. Any believer will tell you that sin in God's eyes is eternally serious. One can be a sinner, and the Lord will accept you. Of can fall into sin and repent, and the Lord will accept you. What one cannot do is think his own opinion trumps scripture. Because I say, for example, abortion is the murder of a life and is sin, you hate me for telling you the truth? Hate me all you want, it doesn't matter. But don't kid yourself into thinking if we all just hold hands and love it will be ok. Maybe some scripture will help you, as expressed by the Lord Jesus Christ here:

Mark 9:43
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

Once again I see troll you evade the question and quote an interestingly relevant(though not in the way you meant it) piece of scripture. The point is that you believe that you may determine who is a Christian or who is not. That is an arrogance. The parable of the poor man and the rich man is perfectly relevant in the sense that JESUS DID RISE FROM THE DEAD(even though Abraham states in that scripture that would never happen) and come to man. He did found a new religious view that contradicts the Old Testament, the conservative, hidebound view of the Jews. He did preach to everyone. He did make an all inclusive religion. He did not declare that only YOU have that path. There you have a case of Jesus himself being the contradiction to the conservative, staid Jewish Law. I do not argue the nature of Jesus or his grace, I argue the right of you or any other man to determine the path others take to Jesus and say it must be the same as yours or they are not true Christians. As far as abortion, it is NEVER mentioned in the Bible and contraception and abortion did exist at that time(the pharmacist shop uncovered in Pompey buried by Vesuvius in the first century AD has a recipe for a "morning after" serum that would induce a miscarriage, written on it's wall). Again I point out that it is absurd to worry about the unborn and unformed when blithely ignoring the starving and the diseased children who are already alive.
