The people of China are more open to the ideas of Christ, than the people of Japan; and it appears that this is because Japanese society is more evil and cruel than the society of China overall

As the FSTDT resident Chinese (no longer using the ConcernedCultist tag), I would explain that as Chinese folk belief being more open to receiving foreign cultural elements. Chinese preachers suck, by the way.
*looks outside her window* I see two kids on bikes, an elementary school, the train tracks, and one old lady with a small dog.
Yup. I live in a bastion of evil.
And I'll have to remind myself that my Japanese Christian friends don't actually exist.
The Japanese decided they would crucify the missionaries and get rid of their proselytizing ilk. Pretty good decision, in the long run. Meanwhile, China had to deal with Western countries on their terms and the ensuing chaos cost millions of lives.
No, it appears the Japanese have a lower tolerance for people coming into their country, telling them they're going to hell and that they have to become like good little hateful American christians.
No offense to the Chinese. China is a beautiful place with amazing people. Letting christianity into the country was a huge mistake, though. Look at all the havoc it has wrought in the states.
Perhaps the citizens of Japan are just that much smarter. It doesn't take a genius to see that allowing christian missionaries into the country never leads to anything good.
This idiot must be familiar with the tale of Francis Xavier.
Christian missionaries historically had about the same amount of success in both countries before the leaders wisely decided to restrict their activities.

Chinese culture came up with such wonders like the nine familial exterminations and lingchi. They also committed one of the first genocides ever recorded (Dzungar genocide of the 18th century).
On the other hand, you have Japanese culture (influenced by China for centuries), which includes its own brutal executions, collective punishments, and such.
What's the point of comparing which culture is more evil and cruel? That's pretty much impossible to determine, because you can do that for every society and culture anyway.
Confused?
