(About two pastors' oldest boys committing suicide)
So sad. My heart goes to these dear men of God. We will pray for these families.
I know for a FACT that witches, cults, satanists, pagans of all sorts, under demons powers, target the children of evangelists, pastors, prophets, apostles, and teachers. I know because my children have been targeted so I know very well.

Witches, satanists, pagans, demonic powers?
Shut up, serf or I'll burn your village to the ground.
Strange, I thought the fundies and even conservapedia claimed that suicide was prevalent in atheist circles, and the god protects one from suicide because you have purpose..
..all in all its sad to hear of those boys deaths..
..who wants to bet that abuse has been involved and something about it will surface soon?
Instead of pinning the boys' deaths on witches, cultists (irony award for that one though), satanists and pagans why don't you point the finger of blame a little closer to home?
Personally I'd be looking at the parents, with a extra scrutiny on the pastor. Then that's just me.
Oh, "dear men of God" my ass. Suicide is the BIG sin, they're in hell now, by their own hand, their own fault, and deserve it. Forever and ever, amen.
< sarcasm,if I must say it >
Strange. I have never seen any real witches, satanists, or pagans, all the cults I know about is derived from Christianity, and demons are just figments of imagination. I'd say that if the pastor was as fundamentalistic as the RR crowd, the children might have been pestered since birth to conform to ancient teachings and cherry-pickings of an old book. As children of a pastor, a person of significance, they might have felt extra responsible and particularly "bad" for not being able to follow every single stupid doctrine.
Good thing the priests over here seem to not be that narrow-minded. I know two priests and they are as normal as most people, just a bit more serene and gentle.
oh bullshit. scapegoating again
more likely, either they were closet gays, or the pastor was molesting them. mental abuse is pretty much a given, of course.
That is so sad.
But I know how that goes. My mom cares more about hand-copying Romans out of the latest Bible translation of the week than she does about me.
"Witches, cults, satanists, [and] pagans" need not apply.
*eyeballs Rescuer's kids* In all seriousness, this is bullshit. I don't know of any Pagans, Witches or Satanists who "target" the children of evangelists. Perhaps these kids committed suicide because they couldn't handle their pastor daddy's oppressive ways. Of course, we can't blame anyone but the Pagans, even if the kids don't know any, because that might mean Christians would have to take some fucking personal responsibility for their actions. Personal responsibility means you can't cry "persecution!"
Oh hell....we avoid your list like the plague. Actually you and the aforementioned list target us. Give it a rest. Those poor children thought the best way to get away from old crazy, cruel, tyrannical dad was to commit suicide and that is heartbreaking. I say pffft and that's as much energy I can muster for the likes of you.
"So sad. My heart goes to these dear men of God. We will pray for these families."
There's something missing in this post.
Oh, that's it. The gleeful joy and foaming at the mouth at the delicious thought of another human being writing in torment in the depths of hell for all eternity.
Where is it? You people usually get off on such things. Could it be because it's one of you this time? How's it feel?
Maybe next time you'll think twice (I doubt it) before spewing your hate towards the family of someone you didn't happen to like or agree with.
Or maybe, just maybe, they suffered from depression, organic andor brought on by your overbearing nonsense.
So, the boys couldn't take much more of the insanity forced upon them by their dads. It's understandable that they committed suicide if their dads were part of the mental institution called Ministering Deliverance.
Maybe these crazy fundies should look into themselves to find some reasons as to why the kids did what they did rather than spew all this nonsense they do.
Interesting how they keep saying witches and pagans use demonic powers when said people do not even believe in demons/satan. Ironically, not even the church of satan actually believes in the devil, they just use it as a symbol to annoy christians.
I've gotten way too desensitized to stupidity. I remember like 15 years ago thinking that nobody actually believed in magic, demons and exorcisms anymore. When I found out people did, I thought they were just a few schizophrenic outsiders. Now, this shit doesn't even surprise me anymore.
You know no such thing, because it is absolute bullshit. Even if the witches, etc, wanted to lure your kids from the church, they know they don't have to bother--you lot do a good job alienating your own spawn often enough. Preacher's kids are notorious for being wild, after years of oppression at home.
And suicide--that's depression or some other mental problem; I would also take a close look at what was going on at home that could have driven them to that.
You know, as someone brought up in surrounded by this shit, I know how it fucks with your mind. I know how when you are young and vulnerable how, if you suddenly find yourself on the wrong side of their bigotry like being gay for instance, how close you come to wanting to commit suicide.
As for me, I recovered; but hearing of the two children of a paster dying, although I do not know why these two chose to die, it brings me a great sadness that this religion snuffs out lives unnecessarily and causes such hatred. I am sure they had great hurt deep down before they did this awful thing.
So shut the fuck up with your 'witches and pagans' crap and show some fucking empathy. Look closer to the love that your Jesus was supposed to have taught and realise that all truth is not in the bible. In fact, very little truth is in your book, the real truth is here in the world right now.
Edit: I just re-read the first line and note how her 'heart' goes out to the family (I am finding it hard to believe she has a heart) but no mention of her heart going out to the tragic kids who took their lives. OK, after death we do usually think of the family, but not by forgetting the ones who have died.
Couldn't be that they're gay and living in a homophobic family, couldn't be abuse, couldn't be what everyone else mentions.
Nope, gotta be those damn demons and witches...
I know for a FACT that witches, cults, satanists, pagans of all sorts, under demons powers, target the children of evangelists, pastors, prophets, apostles, and teachers. I know because my children have been targeted so I know very well.
That would have been plausible and believable...20 years ago.
A pastor's child dies, committing suicide, commonly viewed as a sin in Christianity. You feel sorry for the parents. So do I.
Michael Jackson dies of natural causes, which isn't a sin in any religion. You say he's in Hell and don't so any remorse over his death. I don't.
This says something about this "Christian Love" you guys keep going on about.
Because pastors' kids don't grow up, many of us from birth, hearing about how worthless we all are, how we can never be good enough no matter how hard we try. . . and our dads are so close to us because they don't spend all their time and energy either on other people or working odd shifts at second jobs because the church can't afford them full time.
Granted that's not the [only] source of everyone's problems [I know I have more], but I can't imagine they don't play a part for many. At the least I can say I haven't personally been approached by any witches, cults, satanists, pagans, or anyone under demons' powers telling me to kill myself. And God has had no hand in preventing me from doing so, that's to Neko's and Willow's credit. (Neko on left: http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1768/nekoandwillowen0.jpg )
"I know for a FACT that witches, cults, satanists, pagans of all sorts, under demons powers, target the children of evangelists, pastors, prophets, apostles, and teachers."
That's psychological projection if I've ever heard of it. The Christian motto is to get them kids while they're vulnerable and don't know better.
evangelists, pastors, prophets, apostles , and teachers ... my children
Love it how they are all equal in that sentence. This ones slightly narcissistic.
"I know for a FACT that witches, cults, satanists, pagans of all sorts, under demons powers, target the children of evangelists, pastors, prophets, apostles, and teachers. I know because my children have been targeted so I know very well."
Ah yes, scapegoating. Whenever these listed people or atheistic people die it's because of their godless, immoral lifestyle. But when Christians die it's because of cults, witches, satanists and pagans "evil influences" and "demonic powers".
Just a desperate attempt to cover up the fact that faith in Christianity does not protect you from suicidal tendencies.
If we were to assume, for the sake of argument, that demons actually existed, what would be the good of priests (and, by implication, the god they call upon) who lacked the power even to protect their own children from them?
Oh, yes, us pagans target your poor children- Oh wait, nope, you guys actually target us. Get your head out of your ass. They need to see the post where the evangelical was harassing the Wiccan student and got suspended.
EDIT: Was suspended... Sorry grammar fail
No, it couldn't be overbearing, overly strict parenting & psychological abuse that causes religious people's children to commit suicide, it has to be demons.
I want to know what kind of person, if they had the power, would allow someone to cause someone else's innocent kids to commit suicide. Especially if the parent(s) in question were in strict reverence to the one who had such power.
These people don't stop to think critically about this crap, because if they did their worldview would fall apart. Sure says something about the insitution that someone thinks it's totally acceptable for God to just sit back and allow the horrible things that go on in the world. To say nothing of the obvious projection here. Do they not realize they're indirectly blaming God for these kids' deaths?
Confused?
