Spanking a child for 5, 10 minutes or longer? WTF? I don't condone spanking whatsoever, but I was spanked as a kid (not very often though) and it usually took less than 30 seconds. Bad enough. 10 to 15 minutes? Insane.
@Mithras: Well, they do need to make sure that the children are properly broken before they stop so that the children stop thinking that they are independent people instead of being extensions of their Master's will.
Ok, while I may not be opposed to some physical discipline, this is just sadistic. 10-15 minutes of beating a kid until they're screaming and crying? What the fuck is wrong with you? I bet you'll wonder in a few years why your kids hate and fear you. As rare as it is for me to say this, someone call CPS!

I'm not a parent, but this is just incomprehensible. The idiocy of announcing that you abuse your kids, & the abuse itself which is, no matter what the circumstances, indefensible. I sincerely hope that someone intervenes for the kids' sake. I hope this bitch is outed & shunned, mocked & scorned, & can't even leave her house without people whispering behind her back & pointing at her. She should have to wear a big scarlet "A" for abuser. Or asshole.
This is just incomprehensibly horrible to me.
My mom slapped me once as a toddler when I was being exceptionally obnoxious and poorly-behaved one day. I was apoplectic, and she felt so bad as a result that she wound up comforting me instead of sending me to a time out like she'd planned as well as vowing not to do it again. Lo and behold, she hasn't. However, what worries me is that Michelle_williams, unlike my mother, isn't capable of recognizing blatantly obvious signs that she's taking it way too far and thus won't stop when she needs to.
I don't like thinking this, but I can't help but think that of the kids mentioned in this topic, at least one of them is going to die or get a permanent disability as a direct consequence of the punishments meted out by their parents. I just hope CPS gets to those kids in time.
Oh, Michelle - five...five minutes and I could do far worse to you. If might makes right, and it's okay to strap someone a third your size for 15 minutes, then there should be no moral problem with my turning you into pulp.
