One more indication that the REAL problem of the likes of the author(s) of Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 was the notion of penile penetration performed on anyone who had a penis themselves!

Those, and many other such verses were aimed mainly at the Greeko-Roman culture of "boy love", where rich, sleazy old men would sexually abuse young servants from lower social classes. The way I read it is that Susan is a Protestant. She's responding to the claims that the new Pope might change the Church's stance on married priests or LGBT rights.
I would paraphrase Susan as claiming "Whatever doctrinal nonsense the RC comes up with, doesn't matter because they're only Catholics, while I've got the Bible which says I'm inerrantly right about whatever I want it to say."
This prohibition in Leviticus, however, doesn't condemn homosexualtiy in and of itself but within a specific context: Jews engaging in no-Jewish rites of worship that invovled temple prostitution. In the original Hebrew the word you've rendered 'abomination' is the word 'toebah', which denotes 'ritually impermissible'--it's the ame word the Torah usew to condemn idolatry. If the authors meant to convey the meaning homosexuality wasn't inherently immoral they'd have used the Hebrew word 'zimah'.
Further, the Levitical holiness code only applied to a specific group of people (members of the nation of Israel) at a specific period of time (when that nation was becoming exposed to non-jewish influences which threatened the continued existence of a discrete Jewish identity.)
So it's not just women who get a free pass on homosexuality--it's anyone who isn't a religious Jew living in Canaan around 1450 BC.
