Here’s what is intolerant. Same-sex “marriage” is being forced upon us by a small, but elite, group of individuals dressed in black robes—judges—who say that thousands of years of human history have simply been wrong. That is a very arrogant notion that will bring great harm to our culture.

Newsflash for you Slick. Churches can still hold the right to perform or not to perform the marriage rites/ritual without fear of the government stepping in and saying "You have to marry homosexual couples." If they did that, then they violate the establishment clause. That small, but elitegroup of individuals dressed in black robes know this. They also know they have to uphold civil rights to the group you want to keep away from those very same rights.

There are gay animals in nature. Infact, the higher a population the more homosexual animals said population will produce.

Then why is it you people have no problem with atheists or other non-religious couples getting married? And why is it that Christianity, has one of the highests divorce rates in America?

Sex occurs in nature, not "marriage". Marriage is a man made thing.

First off, gay marriage isn't being "forced" on you. Churches will not be forced to preform gay marriages any more than they are forced to preform atheists marriages.

Second, many ancient cultures supported homosexuality including Rome.

Contrary to myth, Christianity's concept of marriage has not been set in stone since the days of Christ, but has evolved as a concept and as a ritual.

In addition to heterosexual marriage ceremonies in ancient church liturgical documents, were ceremonies called, among other titles, the "Office of Same Sex Union" (10th and 11th century Greek) or the "Order for Uniting Two Men" (11th and 12th century).

These ceremonies had all the contemporary symbols of a marriage: a community gathered in a church, a blessing of the couple before the altar, their right hands joined as at heterosexual marriages, the participation of a priest, the taking of the Eucharist, a wedding banquet afterwards. All of which are shown in contemporary drawings of the same sex union of Byzantine Emperor Basil I (867-886) and his companion John. Such homosexual unions also took place in europe in the late 12th / early 13th century,

That's simply your belief. You can believe marriage was instituted by the god you worship, however you cannot use that basis to deny equal legal rights to gay people. Separation of church and state.

More like second-class citizenship being forced upon gays and lesbians because some people don't want them treated equally due to religious bigotry. And which of the ancient definitions of marriage did you want? One man and numerous women? One white man and one white woman? One man who rules over the woman as his property?
