It's very true that the conservative world view is the only one that makes sense. The socialist/liberal/progressive approach completely ignores human nature and has been shown to be unattainable throughout history.

Yeah, it's not like you worship a guy who said to take care of those who couldn't take care of themselves, and not to judge people because everyones a sinner.
Oh wait........
Nope, I'm right, you guys worship some 1860's death Cult, not Jesus.
"The socialist/liberal/progressive approach completely ignores human nature and has been shown to be unattainable throughout history."
And yet it's the Conservatives who are the ones pushing abstinance-only sex ed.
Personal bias alert!! Personal bias alert!!
"It's very true that the libertarian worldview is the only one that makes sense. The socialist/liberal/progressive/conservative/religious fundie approach completely ignore human nature and has been shown to be unattainable throughout history."
There, fixed.
Let the flaming begin....
"It's very true that the conservative world view is the only one that makes sense."
No. First, something is either true or it's not. The word "very" adds nothing to the word "true."
Second, it is untrue that A. the conservative world view makes sense and B. even if that were true, it is not true that that view is the ONLY view which makes sense.

While I admit that Marxist communism is against human nature, socialism, liberal policies and progressive policies have been and are working quite well in many parts of the world including some such policies here in the U.S.. Try to remember that as you or your parents are cashing your/their social security check(s).

Oh, so that's why we can't seem to get rid of slavery, let women and African-Americans vote, protect the rights of children, or enact legislation to see that employers don't ruthlessly exploit their employees in dangerous work environments for a pittance.
Oh, wait....

What "conservatives" are we talking about? If you mean the reckless radicals who have squandered any hint of respect for our, once great, nation; you are dumber than a box of hair.
Oops! When one quotes Rapture Ready the "dumb" is implied.
The reason it's unattainable, in your view, is because the liberal view of humanity expects people to work to be better than they are. Are you saying that holding people to a higher standard isn't a good thing? We should just punish everyone who doesn't follow your imaginary friend's wishes?
Let's look at history and see who won okay?
American Revolution: The liberal progressivists wanted to secede from Great Britain and establish a democrat republic. The conservatives were against rebelling against the king who had divine right to rule over the colonies. Liberals won.
Emancipation: Liberals wanted to end slavery, not because they cared about black people but because they saw them as slightly more human then cattle. Conservatives were willing to kill anyone who would take that right away. One civil war later and slavery has been ended.
Women suffrage: Again those liberal progressivists want to change the constitution and let the women out of their kitchen's and into the polls. And they won too.
Prohibition: Fanatic conservatives this time around manage to get legislation their way by banning alcohol. One decade later the amendment was revoked due to the rampant crime and that no one gave a shit about it and actually drank more.
Civil Rights: Secular progressivists wanted to get rid of the Jim Crow laws and end the segregation in the South. Conservatives tried to counter the civil rights movement, and lost.
So it turns out that through the entire history of the United States it was the liberal progressivists who win and the conservatives who lose. I wonder which way the gay rights is going to work out?
To sum up the conservative world view:
There are fuckers and fuckees.
If you can't be a fucker, then STFU.
Yes, creating huge national deficits and debt, placing the tax burden on the middle class, rejecting the needs of the poor, starting wars for the benefit of certain industries, and attempting to strip individuals of their rights and liberties is the only rational course any government should take.
Go fuck yourself with a dull kitchen knife.
Unfortunately for you cultists at rapture ready, if you read the Bible(which obviously you don't or you would know rapture isn't in there), Jesus is very liberal. Since you guys worship PAUL over there at RR instead I doubt that matters much to you.
This "conservative view" (Fundie) you speak of is ;
1) not worldwide
2) not known to exist (much) ouside the states
3) overtly religious
4) inherently destructive
Now, that "liberal" view, lukily, is in many successful countries.
Most of the reaction to this quote assumes he's using the word 'conservative' in the same sense you do. I don't think he is. Few of you use the word exactly the way I, an Australian use it.
Just expressing a different opinion to that of many of us here does not qualify a quotation to be posted on FSTDT.
I respect a person whose tagline is 'release your inner adult.'
I'm impressed with anevilmeme's comments on the matter. Whether you agree with him or not, Frodo certainly has a case he can argue. Just in the last century the Communists killed more people than all the religious wars of all of history combined. The soi-disant progressives are adamantly against progress.
This quote does not belong on FSTDT.
I disagree, John_in_Oz. In America (and that's where RR and most of its members are, so that's the definition we have to use) the "conservative world view" is that only rich white males have any rights; everyone else exists for them to use. (At least that's the impression I'm getting from listening to self-confessed "conservatives".)
What a sense of entitlement! He assumes that the philosophy that hands him all the privileges must be the only right one. It doesn't get any more fundie than that. Just because he isn't screeching about god like a crazy hobo doesn't mean he doesn't belong here.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
