Does anyone know of any other animals aside from lion + tiger, or horse + donkey that produce sterile offspring? If this were a common feature and applied to all living things, then "whoever" would have a point but I can't think of any other so his idea pretty much falls apart.
Except a lion, a tiger and their cub have nothing to do with missing links, or even transitional forms, so YOU LOSE!!!!
WEll, actually, both female ligers and female tigons (male lion/female tiger and female lion/male tiger) are fertile. So does that mean the evolution is correct and you'll stop spewing nonsense?
Also, even though they are not a missing link, they provide evidence for evolution in that it indicates that lions and tigers diverged in the recent past from a common ancestor.
Who said it was the missing link between lions and tigers. No one! But the fact that they can produce offspring, even though they are a different species, means that they are very closley related, which means they share a similar common ancestor. Lastly, ligers never happen in nature, so your completly wrong on many levels.
You don't know what exclamation points are for. You don't know what capital letters are for. You don't know what commas are for. You don't know what the space bar is for. You don't know when to capitalize "God." You can't spell "reproduce" or "evolution."
Why is it that anyone should care what you think about evolution, or much of anything else?
All it means is that they shared an ancestor, but that ancestor is now far removed and we're getting to the point where as they continue down their separate paths they will eventually be unable to breed altogether. There are lots of species like this such as False Killer Whales and Dolphins, Brown Bears and Polar Bears, Dogs and Wolves, Cheetahs and Leopards, (Neanderthals and Humans) etc. Some offspring of the above listed are fertile and some are not. It all depends on how long they've been living in different environments as their ancestor species got separated into groups and the different conditions allowed for them to evolve in different ways. If Lions and Tigers survive in nature one day their descendants will be as different as Monkeys and Humans. Your inability to grasp such a basic concept does not make it a bunch of bull.
I recall a rather scary report a few months ago about a Grizzly mating with a Polar Bear, and the offspring being, surprisingly, fertile.

Yeah, I read an article about a guy shooting a polar bear/grizzly hybrid. Didn't know it was fertile, though.
Ah, to breed an army of fundie-eating polar grizzlies.....
He can't lose at this game guys. He's not even on the side-lines. He's not one of the anorexic, groupies..I mean cheerleaders, rawing for his team. Hell this guy is so away from the game he's protesting the tail gate parties!
