Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Adolf Hitler, other political leaders; Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Other Hollywood stars; etc... Since we removed a God or group of gods, we only have one more immediate thing left: MANKIND; the highest by-product of Evolution.

Funny, I didn't graduate high school all that long ago and I remember being forced to learn all about your ID/Creationism bullshit. As if it were a valid scientific alternative to reality.

What I find revealing is that this guy describes himself as "number one Vader fan," not "number one Star Wars fan" or even "number one Anakin Skywalker fan.
In other words, he openly identifies with the penultimate villain in the Star Wars saga, specifically in his villainous persona , evidently valuing highly what Darth Vader stood for: Absolute dictatorial authority over the masses (by his side, naturally) and unquestioning obedience by those masses.
The fact is that science continually questions things in a constant struggle to discover and disseminate truth (i.e., reality, or at least the closest approximations of it to which we can aspire). In doing so, science is readily identified with the democratically-minded Rebel Alliance (the Good Guys, remember?), and even this poor, deluded geek must acknowledge that on some level, since he clearly identifies his own dogmatic view with that of the Evil Empire. In that, at least, I can agree with him.
Wow, I didn't know you had to have a Master's in Biology, as well as teaching credentials and a propensity to teach to High School Students, to be a priest.

Rats, you beat me to the draw. I was going to comment on the irony of his identifying himself as Vader's number one fan, but you did it before me -- and much more eloquently than I was going to do, too.
A currently resurgent fad in fundie dogma seems to be accusing atheists of godlike delusions in the absence of anything else to call a god and bow and scrape to. I don't know about anyone else, but the human experience doesn't seem much like that to me. If I someday gain the ability to bend matter and energy to my purposes by sheer willpower, maybe I'll change my opinion about that.
Other than the Godwin, as an atheist, if the 'religion' thing is taken metaphorically, I agree. No, evolution is not a ladder, and we are quite flawed, but I don't mind being human as opposed to, say, a lamprey.
And I may have called myself 'Darth' if I ever were inclined to register with a fan site based on anything George Lucas created.

I don't worship my teachers - I love and respect them (the good ones, at least) - love for their individual personalities, respect for their knowledge and dedication. Same goes for many scientists. You, however, do worship an entity that doesn't earn respect, but demands it, despite his many unattractive qualities.

There's something deeply fundie about not being able to grasp that people can adhere to a concept other than a religion.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are, by US standard, Left-wing. Adolf Hitler is, by any reasonable standard, very-ultra-right-wing. Plus, he had Darwin's books burned.
There is no highest or lowest in evolution. It's just good-enough-for-now.
Atheists are, believe it or not, able to live their lives without worshiping anything.
