Atheism is far from a cult. We worship nothing, we have no theology, no sacred texts and no gods. We can gather or not gather as we see fit for we have no Sabbath nor clergy.
Islam is the second largest cult in the world, just behind Christianity.
Your assertion tying atheists to death is ridiculous. Read a little bit of history. No one, so far as I know, has been killed in the name of atheism. Islam and Christianity have a far different track record.

Atheism isn't an organization, or a cult, or a religion, or anything else. It's simply a state of not believing in a God.
The Islamic faith says that if you die in Jihad, you go to heaven with 20,000 servants and 72 virgin wives. One could probably make a case that that's a punishment, but I suspect they think of it as a reward ;)
My ex-wife (who was raised Catholic) often refers to Christianity as a death cult, since it revolves around the torturous death of its instigator and focuses so heavily on a theoretical afterlife.

Two erroneous assumptions. If Islam is not a cult, atheism isn´t. To be a cult, they have to believe in something. Second, just because somebody invokes their ideology, I agree, it doesn´t mean that it endorses that. Ok, only that atheism never rely on their ideology to do those barbarities, whereas Islam does. Just be consequent.
Atheism is not a cult, a religion, a faith, or the work of Satan. Is it really so hard to grasp that it ONLY means the lack of belief in any deities?
