"Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Government backed study has revealed.
It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.
There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades - where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem - because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.
The findings have prompted claims that some schools are using history 'as a vehicle for promoting political correctness'.
The study, funded by the Department for Education and Skills, looked into 'emotive and controversial' history teaching in primary and secondary schools.
It found some teachers are dropping courses covering the Holocaust at the earliest opportunity over fears Muslim pupils might express anti-Semitic and anti-Israel reactions in class."

So what do muslims have to do with the Holocaust?
@Thinking Allowed.
Really, you don't know?
Last I checked we use the Holocaust to justify being nice to the Jews, and the Muslims, at least many of them, want to be mean to the Jews. Really, they can pick on the Jews about the holocaust, but they thought of something better. Just deny it ever happened. It is like telling an African American "Your kind isn't at a disadvantage. It never was at a disadvantage. "
I'm confused over something here. What are we voting as funny? The Dailymail seems to have done it's job, so I don't see why we should vote for it. On the other hand, we could be voting for the actual people dropping the Holocaust from the history books. While it makes since to assume it is the second, we all know what assuming does.
Another wonderful example of religion interfering with actually useful things like education.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU SICK FUCKS?!? Take your superstitions and shove them up your asses, morons!
Ah the Daily Mail.
When it says "some" it can mean "one" but more often means "an unsubstantiated rumor that one".
An interesting thought on this one is that I have never heard of a department of education and skills. This is either a new department, a combination of departments, or (most probably) two blokes that the daily mail paid to pick a name and run a "study".
"So what do muslims have to do with the Holocaust?"
The Albanians and Turks rescued Jews.
I'm sure holocaust denial is BNP appeasement.

Lol, my friend sent me a chain email about this last week. Just Snope it, it's not true. And why would the government hold a study to find out what schools are teaching? Wouldn't they just, oh I don't know, go the the Department of Education???
Should we stop teaching about the Civil War because some people are racists? No. Should we stop teaching about the Boston Tea Party because some people are against violence? No.
You ignorant morons can "believe" in whatever you want. But the holocaust happened. If you don't want to learn then get the fuck out of the classroom.

Oh dear. Poor little children.
Someone needs to tell them that their precious beliefs don't really count for much when you can fucking catch a flight to Poland and fucking see the evidence for your own eyes.
The Daily Mail is the newspaper of tea-splurters.
"*splutter!* BLOODY PEOPLE! Ruining our country, taking our jobs, raping our women etc. etc. etc....."
This is bullshit... I did GCSE History and the Holocaust was covered then, before that history covered The Plague, The Romans, The Battle Of Hastings and The Industrial Revalution. We covered the basics of WWII and Hitler and the persecution of the Jews but not in depth with footage until we were 13/14, which is about right.
If you are doing History at GCSE or A'Level which is an option, if part of your curriculm to study Hitler's Germany or WW2 you know it will come up, that is information that you get before you choose history.
Bear in mind this is from the Daily Fail, so there's a real chance it's either not true, true but not quite as they've reported it, or they've massively exaggerated the whole thing.
Indeed, British schools are teaching it. Snopes says the British press leaped on one northern city that wasn't and made it sound as if it were typical. Can you imagine? Teachers are cautioned to take pupils' maturity and background info account when teaching. The Snopes story is here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/holocaust.asp
I know it's been said already but...IT'S THE DAILY MAIL.
You might as well quote World Net Daily as a credible source.
Glad to see Snopes confirms this is not true.
I'm a proud owner of a "Hated by the Daily Mail" t-shirt...get a lot of compliments when I wear it too!

But then, this is the website of the Daily Fail, so is it any wonder? Remember the old saying:
Don't believe everything you read. Least of all rabid right-wing tabloid rags.
For those outside the UK: The Daily Mail = BULLSHIT.
I take History, and so do many of my friends in other schools, and the Holocaust is taught in its full.
I just read this entire quote.
FUCKING FUCKING FUCKING FUCKING CUNTS.
Thank God this isn't widespread, or "gone mad".
YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT BUT IF IT GOES AGAINST HISTORY THEN STICK IT UP YOUR CHOCOLATE FUCKING STARFISH.
Not all Nazis read Mein Kampf -- some read The Quran.
EDIT: I realise this is the Daily Mail, so it's probably B.S., but there might be a small element of truth to it. Either way, let's hope this story is a lie.
Confused?
