Women go as well. I have been with my husband, dad and teenage boys. A few years ago my son's basketball team went to a tournament and he couldn't go because we had planned a trip to Texas. The coach told the team he would take them to Hooters after the game. My son was bummed so we took him to a Hooters in Austin, Tx. I was not uncomfortable at all. Actually our waitress was very nice and took a picture with my son to show his team mates. There were other women as well there, I didn't see any waitresses being harrassed. My only compaint was that the food sucked and it was a little expensive.
That being said, after reading the article, it didn't seem like anyone really cared that the poor women got beat up. Hooters was only concerned with her appearance not worrying about her recovery. Seems sad.

I'm tired of people blaming victims for rape. Just because they wear skimpy clothes or work in a topless bar doesn't mean anything. If any woman in a long dress and a sweater goes walking alone, she has the same chance of getting raped as a woman in a halter top and a miniskirt. @fundiesRtehlulz - You're not wrong, most rape victims know their attackers. That's part of the reason it's so hard to convict. Too easy for the guy to say it was consentual when they've had some kind of realationship. If I remember correctly, in some states it was legally impossible for a man to rape his wife (not physically mind you, but legally. it wasn't considered rape because she was his property) until sometime around the 80s.
