Thanks for that. I had heard that it is the reverse of the rune "algiz" which stood for battle.
But in my previous fundie manifestation, yeah I had been told that it was a broken cross and that breaking a cross like this was something that witches had to do to get into a coven. Then again they also told me that the ugly old lady down the street was a witch and to stay away from her.
