In my opinion, even if the United States plunges into another depression, I think it is going to take an act of God to get countries to willingly and desiringly give up sovereignty to a One World Government. Nations have come and gone all throughout history.....even the biggest Imperial nations like Rome and Babylon.....and no one has desired to give up their country's sovereignty unless they were forced to.
There's gotta be an event that triggers EVERYONE to WILLINGLY accept that there is only one solution, which is a One World Government: The Rapture. It is going to turn this world up-side down and inside out, economically and emotionally. And just after it happens, a smooth talking, attractive, has-all-the-answers kind of guy will step up to the plate and have the answer that the world will want: To be brought under his leadership.
I think the One World Government is being set up right now, the "groundwork" so to speak, but neither recession nor depression will bring it about fully......it's gotta be something much bigger than something that this world has seen happen many times before. Something extraordinary, something out of this world, something impossible....

One world government? Hell, the European Union can't even agree with each other. In New Jersey, people have been told for years that if they want to lower property taxes, that have to give up every little town having its own school district, and they can't even agree with that. In Chester, NJ, the borough is completely surrounded by Chester Township. They've been trying for 40 years to combine the separate police forces. They can't do it, even though the township police have to drive through the borough to get from one side of the township to the other. And you're worrying about one-world government? What a moron.
There is no one world government conspiracy just people advocating one world government. But it's not going to happen. Europe can't even manage to form a single government. Europeans are mostly happy with the EU as is, but keep rejecting referendums on a Constitution.
Worldwide open borders, a single currency, and a common treaty enforced by threat of expelling the nation from the union and enforcing sanctions that sets certain labor, consumer, and environmental standards for fairness and to prevent countries from taking all the jobs by having cheaper labor are a good idea, but even that is going to be hard to achieve. An actual one world government would never work though and imagine if there was a military coup with a one world government. We'd go from one big democracy to one big dictatorship with no where to run.
Please, the rapture's going affect what, 2, maybe 3 people? I doubt it'll be a big enough deal for anyone to take notice.
Sorry there goodlookin1, America has been in an economic depression since the mid 1970s, And Babylon was never a large imperial nation.
Also, Any "smooth talking, attractive, has-all-the-answers kind of guy" who seeks power, is generaly demolished by reality. Governments are best when they are a collective body of competent people working together to find a workable solution.
...Rome and Babylon? Babylon was culturally significant in the area and all, but it can't compete to Rome! And what about all the empires that were better than Babylon?? The Incas! The Han! The Mongols! The English! Babylon?? That's the best you could come up with?? Re-read your history book and come see me after class!
Hi! What's cookin' good lookin'? Just me having fun. Hi, Pule Thamex here. Actually, I was just wondering if you'd be interested in a fantastic new range of head gear that I have been developing off-world, Camjo 7's the location to be precise.
The protective hats (we had to give them some sort of a name) are fashioned from a gorgeous highly-shiny material in a pointed design, perfect for all occasions, even snow. (I know because Minori of RR just bought one for the unexpected snowfall down in Texas)
I've already contacted your Cindy S. about it and I believe she's already placed a large order, 5000 actually. So you better get in quick before they all go.
If you'd rather, my friend, and yours, ron4jesus, has agreed to become a distributer up in Chicago, if that's any easier for you.
Be speaking to you soon, Pule.

How in hell is the Rapture going to trigger an economical disaster? It's not like True Christians are in the top wage earning bracket. You guys would disappear from your jobs at McDonald's and Wal-Mart and no one would ever miss you..
The world would never notice.
Yeah, the world's going to notice 26 people disappearing. Even IF the rapture is real, not enough people are going that's going to cause a big notice among the rest of the world. You guys simply are not that important.
Yeah beacuse the US, Russia, Iran, North Korea, China, Venezuela, Israel and so on all would give up their borders and self-image to be "ruled" from one central seat. Lets see, where would this mythical empire be run from? New York? Nope, that would piss off pretty much everyone else. Baghdad/Babylon? Nope, no self-respecting North American or Western European would ever allow that not to mention Israel shitting a brick at the idea. Moscow? Right, tell me when hell freezes over. London/Paris/Berlin? Right, Europe alone would have a field day with that.
Oh wait, I'm a racist. I didn't even think about Africa or east Asia. Fuck me....
But... why? Why would nations give up sovereignty just because they lost some of their population? Sure, the U.S. might lose a good chunk of people, and I'm sure Latin America would be pretty badly affected (if you think those sneaky Catholics are Real True Christians, and not secret Goddess-worshippers or whatever). But, really, would the loss of the few million Chinese and Japanese Christians (less than 1% of their populations) really be world-shattering to them? Even losing the 2% of India's population that is Christian probably wouldn't destabilize the country to the point where they would willingly accept outside governance. And between India and China, we've already covered a third of the world's population...
@Pule Thamex
[infantile copulation joke]Pule ... really? Incidentally, that's a norwegian word which directly translates to; fuck (as in the verb; to fuck .) [/infantile copulation joke]
About the quote by Goodlookin1; there really is no need for me to further elaborate on this insanity.
Besides, during recession, countries tend to adopt more protectionistic measures, getting more nationalistic on the scale.
I very much doubt, they would open themselves up and accept one common government during these times.
It just doesn't make sense from an economic point of view.
so god is going to set the scene to allow the AC to rise, thus leading to the rapture and tribulation and armageddon bringing about the end and the opportunity for some serious damning.
What an arsehole!!
Can't these people SEE that the god they worship is a psychopathic sadist with control-freak tendancies?!
"a smooth talking, attractive,"
They got a kinda Jungle fever for Obama they won't admit to.
I like Obama because he speaks well (not hard after Bush an Co.) and honestly (never said he had 'all the answers', that was also Bush and Co.)
The 'world' recognizes the improvement but certainley aren't as horny for him as you people are.
