There are other theories that counter evolution without relying on the Bible or God.

Well, there are some not very popular ones,
like the theory that the universe was sneezed out of the nose of the great green arkleseizure,
which for example is more believable than the Hypotheses brought forth by ID ;)
Of course there are. The Norse tradition, the Hindu one, the Aztec one... there are hundreds, all just as valid as the Christian one. Are you really that desperate?
Quoth the Raven, "Twas when the world was innocent and larks did sing their joy."
A shadow from the east rose up saying, "This world shall be my toy".
"Quiggly", mumbled Jack Spratt, his muffled voice was full of pussy.
"Drop you the cat from that gaping maw," said Irene Turner-Cartwright the prescient Jackdaw.
Quoth the acquisitive daw, "Cousin Raven will amaze and hold the world to ransom." (cont. page 94)
Such as.................
*drums fingers*
"There are other theories that counter evolution without relying on the Bible or God."
That is entirely true. Those, however, are not scientific. They are really just theories.
Yeah loads of them. Which non-Bible one are you advocating?
Or are you seriously suggesting that having lots of alternative theories means anything, because that goes both ways you know. If it's an argument against evolution, it's also an argument against creationism.
Ooh! Ooh! I've got one that doesn't rely on either. The universe was actually made by some guy named Mike after a wicked binge in college. Don't believe me? It's all documented in the holy Libel! The first verses "In the beginning, Mike was trashed. And he blew thousands upon thousands of chunks, and it was good, till he woke with a hangover and had an 8AM class."
It's so obvious that Mike make the universe, when it's written down there. Anyone else is just making things up, unlike the Libel, which is true.
Okay, I'm done.
oh man.
I just went to the site to find the quote in context and see if she ever provided any examples. But I can't get halfway down the page. The sheer blowhardedness of everyone who posts there made my breathing constrict and my forehead vein throb. All I can say is, that place is probably the most aptly-named forum I've ever seen a quote submitted from.
Those I'd love to read.
Oh..no link...
Sure there are. Funny thing is, I don't think you'd believe any of them either, because they'd 'contradict' your ideas. If you mean something besides the myriad of creation myths you need to tell us what they are so we can discuss them properly.
Okay he's right. There's one book out there that proposes a secular alternative to evolution, but it is just as wrong as creationism. With that exception, every other so called "alternative theory" to evolution has some sort of religious nut working the strings.
ID is not a valid theory. The cdesign proponentsists knew this and tried to bypass the scientific method (where ID would be shred to bits, and its mangled corpse regurgitated into their laps) and tried to force it into school through the courts (where it was shred to bits, and its mangled corpse regurgitated into their laps).
Since then no other "theories" have been proposed, and the IDiots now want schools to "teach the controversy" even though no controversy exists about the theory that explains the diversity of life on planet earth, unless you count FSM-ism.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
