(On advocates of Global Warming)
What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation. They believe that the earth's population needs to be brought down to about 500 million so they can control this. These people are about having control over other people. It's all about power and has nothing to do with being good stewards. Alot of the proponents of this stuff are in fact wiccans and witches of some sort who actually do worship "Mother Earth".

I know Jebus freaks who would like to cut the world's population by a billion -- that's the "Muslums." They also wouldn't mind taking out the Buddhists, Hindus, Wiccans, and when you get right down to it the Catholics and Jews as well. Oh, and they would also like to kill the non-fundies -- at least those who aren't the same brand of fundie as they are. So after they're through it would probably be more like 30 or 40 people left.
What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation.
So if global warming exists, then trying to curb emissions in order to stop it isn't taking care of the earth? Are your parents brother and sister?
My head fucking exploded from the stupid in that first sentence. Someone make my brain make my lips-erm, fingers say that assholes like josh1313 are the ones who aren't taking care of the planet and are raping it of its resources. I need to go relearn how to walk and keep myself from shitting and pissing myself.
What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation.
Go read what your fellow Raptards said about Earth Hour. I seem to remember a little something about you spiteful pricks, instead of not participating, actually say you were going to be as wasteful as possible. Now who's not taking care of "god's creation"?
What the fuck does a population decrease have to do with hurting the world? This planet is better off without humans...it's not like the presence of mankind is necessary in order for the world to keep existing. The planet was doing fine on it's own long before humans came around, you silly twat. I guess this just shows how ignorant and egocentric you and all your fellow Raptards are.

No. Someone has to take care of "god's creation". Esp since his own followers won't do it.
They believe that the earth's population needs to be brought down to about 500 million so they can control this.
Sources please.
These people are about having control over other people.
Sounds like Christianity to me.
Alot of the proponents of this stuff are in fact wiccans and witches of some sort who actually do worship "Mother Earth".
Source for this please. And wiccans are good people whose believes are more peaceful than yours.
Interesting.
Starting premise: Whole planet is God's creation as is whole universe.
Man taking care of God's creation= good.
Man taking care of planet Earth's well being= bad.
How is that thing called? Cognitive dissonance? Double-think?
Alot of the proponents of this stuff are in fact wiccans and witches of some sort who actually do worship "Mother Earth".
And a lot of us aren't so what is your friggin point? Trying to prevent global climate change and ecological disasters is somehow wrong? Everyone on this site has read your sorts silly fucking comments about disbelief in mans ability to harm the planet.
Your make believe skydaddy is NOT going to wave a magic wand and fix things for us. You also are NOT going to be whisked away to heaven as the polluted world dies behind you. You are going to remain here just like the rest of us until the day when you eventually die, the same goes for your children, and their children too.
You need to stop stareing at the sky and pleading to a non-existant diety to come save you for long enough to pay attention to the world around you. Perhaps then you would realize that we need to make some changes before we devastate the only world we have. China and India are learning to live just like we do and the planet simply will not be able to support that.
It is time for America to get out in front of the rest of the world on clean energy and clean industry and lead by example. If we don't we will be left behind in all the new technologies and industries involved. We will also be dooming this planet to catastrophy.
Now is not the time to bury our heads in the sand and pretend that nothing is happening. Just because your real God, George W. Bush, did that doesn't make it the right thing to do.
@Zeus Almighty
"So after they're through it would probably be more like 30 or 40 people left."
And they'd all be registered on Rapture Ready. Or maybe not - one of their avatars is the Kool-Aid Smiling Face Pitcher.
so controling the amount of carbon emissions is not taking care of your gods "creation" hmm funny that, im sure the action against global warming is to try to SAVE the planet.....
funny how you also blame wiccans and witches for advocating global warming when its you dickheads that are spouting that we can rape the planet as its going to all change after the rapture. but even as an atheist i'd still rather worship the planet we call home, than your pretend god and his zombie son. at least it gives something back!!
i kind of get the feeling this should also be in CSTDT as this is also ever so slightly NWOesque
And Christian Church is not about having control over other people. Good to know...
PROJECTION! Read up on it, please.
It makes more sense to "worship" Mother Earth, as the Earth actually exists, than to worship some invisible non-tangible sky-bully.
"What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation. "
Because God's followers sure as hell aren't.
"They believe that the earth's population needs to be brought down to about 500 million so they can control this."
Who the hell said that? Yes the earth is overpopulated, but no one's advocating genocide, just more responsible procreation practiced in the future.
" These people are about having control over other people. It's all about power and has nothing to do with being good stewards."
Seen a mirror lately?
"Alot of the proponents of this stuff are in fact wiccans and witches of some sort who actually do worship "Mother Earth"."
You better thank your god for these WIccans and Witches. Without their efforts to help raise environmental awareness, we may be starving by now.
Where does this 500million thing come from. I swear I've heard that from other fundies, but I can't help but wonder where they're getting it. How do they coordinate these lies?
From their king liar, Kent 'I Pay My Taxes to God' Hovind.
> What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation.
So you're saying that these people should be taking care of God's creation?
Agreed, that would be a laudable goal. Why aren't you doing that too?
> Alot of the proponents of this stuff are in fact wiccans and witches of some sort who actually do worship "Mother Earth".
Well, I'd rather trust the people who have a religious agenda to take good care of the planet and are doing something toward it, rather than people who have supposed religious agenda to take good care of the planet and do effing nothing toward that end, far from it.
(What was the phrasing in Genesis 1:28, again? Have a "dominion" over all living things? Rule over the nature like wise, enlightened rulers... or did you read it as "tyranny"? Did the verse order us to "subdue" the nature - to put everything to proper and considerate use for the best results for everyone... or perhaps you thought the idea was to "exploit" it? The strong phrasings of "dominion" and "subjugation" aren't helping here! Don't ask me - you're the masters of semantics here. I'm just reading it for the best possible intended effect - a lot of you just try to interpret it negatively instead. Your ecological position is clear as mud! By comparison, "an it harm none, do what ye will" at least gets the basic direction established: with the power comes the frigging responsibility .)
Hint: You're supposed to do things because it's a good frigging idea. Have you ever considered the possibility that your religious or political enemies might be doing something right? It's actually more likely than you think! It happens all the time!

I always wonder that. They come out with the most absurd, batshit lies, and they all start saying them at the same time. (Recently I've heard 5 separate fundies claim Stephen Hawking is a creationist. I mean, WTF?) There must be some talking points memo chain-mailed to fundies to tell them these things.
Actually, there is an environmental group that wants to reduce the world's population to what they believe is a more sustainable level.
The Optimum Population Trust
Mind you, they're talking about aiming for a world population of 5 billion or less, not 500 million, and they advocate birth control, not mass euthanasia programmes. To be honest, they make a lot of sense. David Attenborough's one of their patrons.
As one of those dirty witches - MORON. I love liars for Jesus. I'm not huge on the whole global warming thing, but definitely earth stewardship. It's so funny how they take a situation where they (and everybody else) have screwed up and someone else is going to fix it - make them the bad guy! They're killing people/wanting to kill people! Honest! My talking Jesus poster told me so!
*rolls eyes*
@David B: It indeed makes sense.
The only problem I can see is if the type of people who care more about the environment are those likely to have less children --and-- those likely to teach their children to care about the environment. If that's true, we might have a smaller portion of people caring each generation...

Yes, and Einstein believed in god ... and every famous atheist -- evah -- has had a deathbed conversion to jaysus.
Sentence 1: WRONG.
Sentence 2: No, we just believe people need to stop being so fucking wasteful so we don't end up suffocating in our own filth within 50 years. It's a reasonable request.
Sentence 3: NO. We couldn't force people to be eco-conscious if we tried. And anyway, isn't human survival something everyone should WANT to promote?
Sentence 4: Close, but Wiccans don't worship the Earth. We treat it with respect because we believe the Divine is EVERYWHERE, INCLUDING THE EARTH THAT IT CREATED. You wouldn't torch a painting your Aunt Margaret gave you, so why destroy the Earth--the best gift any species could ever have?
So you support the care of God's creation in principle, but disagree in action because it would have you allied with the evil, mythical witches you made up in your head?
Also, I think it needs to come down a few billion more than the number you devise, but I wouldn't kill anybody or try to control them to get that.
First of all, why *shouldn't* we, as a whole, take care of the planet? It's the only one we *have* (at this point), and we're trashing it.
The only ones I see who are "all about having control over others" are the Christians, who want to impose their "morality" on everyone.
Who the hell *cares* if they're Wiccan, Pagan, Atheist, Satanist, or what have you?
I personally prefer pagan brand delusionals to the one god brand delusionals around. at least, since they already managed to give the finger to one dominant delusion, even if they just chose another one, they still demonstrated the fact that they can be educated.
::facepalm::
You may not realize it, Josh, but the only ones taking the Georgia stones seriously are fundies, conspiracy theorists and similar nutjobs. Basing your position on the unsupported assertions of a document of unknown origin is your modus operandi . Serious scientists would need to know how you got that 500 millions figure before they could agree or disagree with it, and any population control legislation would need a sound, solid scientific basis (hint: the guidestones don't qualify)
"What these people are advocating is not taking care of God's creation."
And war, hatemongering, murder, trying to prevent the prevention of global warming, being counterproductive to the search of a clean renewable energy source and generally being a prick IS?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
