Without getting into the multifarious reasons Transgender and Bisexual Politics are not Gay and Lesbian Politics or Gay and Lesbian needs/lives share little in common with Transgender and Bisexual needs/lives, this post will briefly focus on ONE: Suicide!

The high suicide rates among Transgendered and Bisexuals pose several critical issues for Gays and Lesbians. Firstly, they lead the general public to believe that Gays and Lesbians as a group are mentally unstable/suicidal. These beliefs can negatively affect us from gaining basic legal rights/protections, impacting jobs, housing, state marriage legalization, personal/interpersonal relationships, including with our own families. Secondly, these suicide rates give us (Gays/Lesbians) inaccurate information about OUR community. As a result, how can leaders in the Gay/Lesbian and medical authorities properly address mental health issues/needs and suicidal feelings/attempts/deaths among Gays and Lesbians?

See, Dirt, when sane people look at a minority with issues of suicide and depression, their general thoughts seem to be about how they can help those people. Now, because you are obviously some kind of lizard monster in a skin suit, you seem to think that suffering is an excuse to preach your values.
First, there are no such words as "firstly" and "secondly".
Second, your willingness to throw another mistreated, misunderstood minority under the bus for the benefit of your own is truly disgusting.
You know why their suicide rates are so high? It's because families often disown them, they might lose friends, random people call them horrible sinners and that they will burn in hell. If the feelings for these groups change the suicide rates will drop.
You're fighting the wrong enemy. The real enemy is all the homophobes running around saying that all LGBT's are deranged perverts, freaks, and sinners who deserve to die and burn in Hell. THAT is what's responsible for the high suicide rate.

1). I suspect that these issues arise in the transgender community for the same reason they arise in the homosexual community, namely a lifetime of rejection by family and a good chunk of the community.

So would I for the matter, since they`re using the exact language of ignorance that is usually par for the course with religious conservatives.
While in the latter group you can kind of understand it, since most of them will not credit medicine or biology anyway, it`s just more puzzling with the former.
Do they think that just by ignoring the reality of the complex nature of our genotypes and conditions folks are born with, they`ll make their ideal binary true?
I`m a living example of just how things can get weird, being xxy with female form, no ovaries, yet(as of recently) working uterus and my outer genitals were well, weird but they were outward(reason I got classified as a boy at birth). While my brain fits the binary without any problems, my genetic makeup does not. I have a distinct feeling of just not existing to these people...

1st: Pretty sure you don't know what a bisexual person is
2nd: So transgender and bisexual people shouldn't commit suicide because otherwise gays and lesbians will feel bad.
3. I'm pretty sure gay people and lesbians commit suicide for pretty much the same reason (i.e. being shunned by society)
Hmm. Last time I checked Bisexual and Trans politics 'were' much the same gay and lesbian politics with some minor differences for bisexuals and significant ones for trans, LGBT 'does' include us. Bisexual lives are much the same just with extra bullshit from people like you and nitwits who insist we don't exist, are confused, or lying. It's Trans and asexuals who get the most shit from both sides. So it doesn't matter if Bi and Transpeople die from suicide? Funny, I've heard the same spiel about gays and lesbians from fundamentalist jackoffs numerous times.
