My wife tolerates an upper limit on beards because of abrasions, not cleanliness.
And without my beard i look like the Gerber Baby. My supervisor won’t let me shave it off except once a decade.

I’ve been going bald since high school, it doesn’t track with a loss of intelligence.
Beards were allowed in the Navy, then only allowed underway, then sometimes allowd underway, and finally i got out. Presence or absence did not track with mental acuity.
