[A Christian bakery in Oregon would rather close down than make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.]
There are gays and lesbians, and there are faggots and dykes. From Mexifornia North...
[...]
This is typical militant faggotry. There are no doubt gay-owned bakeries that would have served them. However, they deliberately chose a Christian bakery specifically to have a reason to whine and bitch to the state because there was "dis-KRIM-inashun". That's the way the insufferable homosexual extremists operate. And then the militant homos feign amazement and shock when straights express contempt for them.
For the record, those two dykes and the heterophobic fagtivists who are making life hell for the Kleins are a loathsome, hateful minority of the queer minority. They are textbook latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock liberals, virulently anti-Christian and totally intolerant of anyone who does not grovel obsequiously at their feet.
They are no more loved or respected by the majority of gays and lesbians than by the straights. If anything, they are even more detested by gays because they create a grotesque, offensive public persona that undoes years of patient, constructive, out-of-the-limelight dialog and interaction.
The bitches are getting their 15 minutes of unmerited fame at a great cost.

OK, I know that DrDoom is STILL a terrible person, but do note that his stance is (gasp!) evolving! To wit: "[t]here are gays and lesbians, and there are faggots and dykes". That is one hell of a step forward! That, my friends, is subtlety I have not expected of him! Still, I would very much like to spit in his face.

You obviously have not been to that part of Oregon. I have. Bakeries are not on every street corner in that part of the state. In fact, it is very likely that the nearest bakery other than this one is an hour or more drive time away.
Or, it could be that they chose a bakery and then were shocked when the baker told them they wouldn't bake a cake for them.
Doesn't matter anyway, since it's not right for a business to refuse service to someone based solely on sexual orientation. It's no different from refusing business to people based on the color of their skin, but I'm guessing Dr. Doom is OK with that too.
And is this the same bakery who agreed to bake a cake for a dog wedding but refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding?
Right. They tried to do business with that bakery only because they *wanted* to be discriminated against and make Christians look douchey. Makes total sense.
Pretty sure DD has no business speaking for GLBT people, ever. Apparently the only people who can overload his swiss cheese, syphilitic brain more than GLBT rights activists are those who lean too far left, according to him.
Edit to add: Wait, they seriously did a dog wedding cake? LOL!! Oh, that's rich. But what did Jesus say about DOG weddings!? How do we know God doesn't think they're an abomination and a mockery of heterosexual marriage!!!?

Doombot apparently thinks people spend as much time looking for ways to offend him as he does looking for reasons to be offended.
You call them faggots, dykes, loathsome, and stereotype their whole lives yet somehow it's the gays that are hateful. Let me guess, you're a good, compassionate person who hates nobody, right? You're just preserving traditional...baking?

Kind of like how racists now say that "there are black people and there are niggers. Black people are okay, but niggers are bad."? Because that's not much of an evolution. It DOES show that the social tide has really turned though when even doomie has accepted that he can no longer attack every gay person in the world.
I think it's incredibly bad Capitalism to turn down a reasonable job offer. Why isn't anyone pointing that part out? My dad's an Atheist, he's put phone systems into churches and Christian group owned buildings before, no questions asked except for how many lines they need.
I've heard that there are handicapped people who will go into different businesses to use the restroom, and if it's not ADA compliant they'll sue the business in order to bring it into compliance. It doesn't matter that their sole reason for going into the business was to inspect the bathroom for compliance, if it's not then the business will get into trouble.
Similarly, it doesn't matter if a gay couple deliberately chooses a Christian bakery or not, if said business discriminates against them, they're violating the law.
I bet all these libertarian types who say, "A business has the right to refuse service to anyone" would quickly change their tune if a business decided to discriminate against Christians.
Bakeries are not like churches that you can find on every corner of the street.
And admit it, if I was running a bakery but denied to serve hateful bigoted fundies such as yourself, you would be up in arms about being discriminated against. This is no different.
years of patient, constructive, out-of-the-limelight dialog and interaction
What does DD know of patience, constructiveness, keeping out of the limelight, dialog or interaction? There's not much evidence of any of that in his vocabulary.
Jimmy Carter's predecessor as Governor of Georgia got into politics by shutting down his restaurant rather than permitting desegregation. While it's probable DD would have cheered him on, the Kleins may have a future in the Oregon GOP.
Two things here Doc. First off, the bakery broke the anti-discrimination law in Oregon. Secondly, the bakery wasn't that great before this happened. If one reads the review on Google and Yelp and ignores the posts in support and against the rhetoric from this situation, the reviews didn't favor the place. The chief complaints were dry and stale cakes as well as bad customer service. In my opinion, this refusal of service to a same sex couple was the last nail in the coffin.
@ John-a christian bakery is where they make fresh cakes, pies, cookies & scones with fresh, organic christians. They maintain them without the growth hormones & many keep free-range christians in the backyard, where they graze on fresh grass.
This is almost progressive for Dr Doom. Still, I hope the Human Torch sets him ablaze.
@dionysus:
Well, his stance IS downright progressive nowadays. He's not completely full of shit, like he used to be - now it's somewhere near 99,5%.
Marvel Comics called--they want you to stop demeaning the character of their untra-self absorbed, inherently elitist, violent and megalomaniacal sociopathic arch-villain by using his name for your posts.
If I opened up a restaurant, and said that I wouldn't serve to Christians, despite the fact that I serve to everyone else and I never said anything about not serving to Christians before, you would bitch so hard and so long that your face would turn blue. Don't deny it.
...and totally intolerant of anyone who does not grovel obsequiously at their feet. .
Said a militant asswipe who expects everyone in the US to goosestep in line with his religious worldview and grovel at the feet of his hateful god, then has the nerve to be upset and offended that many of us would rather walk on our boobs than comply.
Strange, when my partner and I got married in February of last year, the hotel where we had a celebration luncheon presented us with champagne. Later, after the luncheon, when the guests had left, we went to our room and there was some more bubbly. We switched on the TV (sorry to disappoint; we did not engage in rampant, savage, disgusting practices, although perhaps it would have been fun. /sarcasm.) and on the screen was a message from the management: "Welcome to Xotan and ..... [name of my partner]...on their wedding day. We really made life hell for that hotel...No, wait.... er.... They made life hell for us....No. That's not right. Ah! figured it out. This is Europe. It was no big deal. We tend not to be hag-ridden by religion.
Try coming into the 21st century. It's more comfortable here. We are not dominated by Bronze Age attitudes and ignorance.
It's almost cute how DD thinks that all Christians are hateful, bigoted, lying, anti-Jesus sociopaths like himself.
Nope, I'm with the bakery on this one. I think they should shut down before they make a wedding cake for a same sex couple.
Not only would this remove one more bigoted little business from the market, potentially rewarding those businesses who think they are actually there to provide a service for money, but also it would limit their ability to ruin the cake, or even the wedding, through deliberate and spiteful contamination.
"However, they deliberately chose a Christian bakery"
They chose a bakery who I presume they thought would be happy to get the business. I doubt very much if they considered the religious affiliation of the bakery owners at all.
"There are no doubt gay-owned bakeries that would have served them."
Who in their right mind asks if the owners of a business are gay or straight before using them. Of course we're talking about America here so I suppose we have to make allowances.
Confused?
