They consider animals sacred due to their beliefs in animism - their ancestors are living in the monkeys that are stealing their cokes.
Their false gods are turning against them!

From the very story that this is a response to:-
Efforts to drive out the animals is complicated by the fact that devout Hindus view them as an incarnation of Hanuman, the monkey god who symbolises strength.
Uh-huh. You didn't actually even read the story, did you?
"They consider animals sacred due to their beliefs in animism"
That's not what animism means, pal.
"their ancestors are living in the monkeys that are stealing their cokes."
Say what now?
"Their false gods are turning against them!"
Ok, I think it's time you went back to the common room and watched some more Looney Tunes. After you take your meds, of course.
Indians are not animist and, for the record, monkeys have many human traits, remember?, that's why they steal. Sorry to slay your two sacred cows(no pun intended), evolution and bigotry against other religions. Moreover, the sacred animal there is the cow, and you won't hear that they're stealing anything at all.
Not for stealing their cokes, for killing the Deputy Mayor.
He was on a balcony when he was swarmed by the monkeys. Tried fighting them off and went over the railing.

Because if it were, Fundies would take even more of their kids out of public schools and do a "home schooled" course on comparative religions, consisting of:
(1) Christianity, and
(2) All the other ones, who are actually worshipping Satan even if they don't know it.
So much fail, so few words.
I suggest countering the macaques by importing their natural predators. It wouldn't make the situation much worse, people just need to keep a close eye on their children. Also, the devout Hindus can accept the predation as a fact of nature.
"They consider animals sacred due to their beliefs in animism ..."
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
(Read: Do you believe in souls? Then you're an animist, you dope.)
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
