1998 has significance in the Mayan calendar, because there is supposed to be a 14-year transitional period starting in 1998 leading up to 2012 (the end of the current sun cycle).
If you approximate pi as 3.14, you can get 2012 from (3*666)+14.
My favourite numerological coincidence is related to the 14/88 number code that White power groups use (for David Lane's 14 words, and 88 = HH = Heil Hitler, respectively). 88/14 = 2 * (22/7) = approximately 2 pi: a revolution.

WOW!!, I mean, I find difficult to understand some "prophecies" of the Bible, and now I have to understand the "prophecies" of people who pierced their tongues to get blood.
You're admitting that these are "numerological coincidences," so you're admitting that they are possibly amusing, but nothing more. Big whup.
That's funny, I always thought that in 2012 (December 21, to be exact) Earth will pass through the exact center of the galactic spiral arm. It's certainly going to be a landmark date for astronomers, but what's this crap about a sun cycle?

Yeah, and if you approximate 3 as 2, then you get 2+2=6.
And in this, you prove a valuable point, albeit not the one you were shooting for.
String together enough numbers, and you can create whatever outcome you want, partucularly if there's no rhyme or reason as to how they relate.
If you approximate osadifjasf as 682.98987, (3*666)+14 would still be 2012. So?
1) 3.14159265358979323846264338etcetera is not the same as "3". It doesn't make a good argument for Solomon's bath, and it also doesn't work here.
2) What does pi have to do with anything anyway.
3) Why the arbitrary math? 3 means nothing, 666 means nothing, and 14 means... nothing.
