So; You're taking one line that was VERY questionable and made no sense in the context of the whole franchise and using it to bash said franchise for being "anti-Christian"?
Frankly; The old Jedi Order always came across as a bunch of rigid austere stiffs that were totally out-of-touch. They were weirded-out by members who bent the rules and couldn't communicate well. If they were more open, fluid and more about controlling rather than suppressing urges and were open to committed romantic relationships, things might not have turned-out the way they did.
Anakin had to keep his marriage to Padme secret. All that secrecy is bound to make things harder to deal with without revealing the truth.
Both Jedi and Sith had to be destroyed.
I think the real answer is The Grey Jedi. I see both sides of the Force like the Witchy NeoPagan I am.
The Light Side is about the "Seven Virtues" (Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, Humility) and concepts like Peace, Love, Calm and Order.
The Dark Side is about the "Seven Vices" (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride) and concepts like War, Hate, Turmoil and Chaos.
However; While the Virtues are preferable, you still need a little of everything. Sometimes a "Vice" can lead to a "Virtue" and vice-versa. It's hard to have awesome sex with the one you love (and create new life) if you can't feel Lust. It's hard to tackle a social injustice if you don't feel a righteous wrath. One can have so much "Humility" that they have no self-esteem, are super-depressed and then kill themselves.
Thus; While the "Virtues" are nice, the so-called "Vices", in modest amounts, are still necessary.
The Force, to me, like Magick, has no color on it's own. How you use it is what makes it Light or Dark.
One can use both the Light and Dark Sides of the Force and still be a Good Guy.
Not all Good Guys are virtuous. Take a gander at Han Solo.
I truly feel that the New Trilogy is going to lead to True Balance in The Force....The Light and Dark becoming one and lasting Peace resulting....

....I was surfing WOOKIEpedia one day and saw a little bit about The Je'daii Order. They were the precursor to both Jedi and Sith. The original Je'daii were masters of both sides of the Force. However; There was a rift and the two sides split. So now you have these Force Orders based on one side or the other.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Je%27daii_Order
....It sounds a bit like the UrSkeks in The Dark Crystal....
http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/UrSkek
....They were these beings that cracked the Crystal and split into the kindly UrRu/"Mystics" and the nasty Skeksis.
Now; What does this have to do with the OP? Zilch. As a Star Wars fan, however, I just HAD to get this off my chest!
This is why I'm NeoPagan and Universalist in my approach to everything. I'm all about ABSOLUTE BALANCE. The only absolutes are Good & Evil but the variables within are fluid and vary in ethical alignments and social standards.
This bleeds over into spirituality with the concept I've explained before of my personal (strictly archetypal and non-literal) Pantheon of Good & Evil and Light & Dark beings....
COLOR****GOOD****EVIL****
LIGHT: Godhead - Demiurge
DARK: Lucifer - Devil/Satan
LIGHT: Angels - Archons
DARK: Demons - Devils
The OP is a total stiff!
Good! More Star Wars for me!
Ooooohhhh! Yummy boys!....

....I know you're all playing for "Team Awful" but....Come to Mama!
[*Heh* I see Kylo getting redeemed. He's more an Anti-Villain to me, unlike the gorgeous but horrid slimeball Hux (I'll chain the latter and make him a slave).]
