[This is in response to the news of a potential major earthquake in SoCal.)

well, for sure the earthquake will happen as it is predicted by bible prophecy . we are nearing the time of the end when everybody will have to make a decision between serving god on the right day or going along with the stream. this should be a wake up call for all. this«ngs are going to be happening more frequent as Jesus second coming is drawing closer.

Well for sure because the bible has been dead-on on all of it's prophecies up to now, right? This isn't the end of times, it's not the second coming (that phrase always reminds me of my first time) they are called 'earthquakes' and they happen quite frequently. Especially in southern california due to a number of unstable fault lines, including the famous 'san andreas fault'. This area is part of the 'ring of fire' that you may or may not have heard of. There is actually quite a bit of information out there that would describe it better than I can, you'll probably learn about past earthquakes in california and their effect on the surrounding region. The bottom line is, not everything that happens in nature is a sign of the apocolypse, kay sweetie? Now you run along and play and I'll let you know when Sesame Street comes on.

The bible didn't predict any single earthquake. Additionally, there's no basis for any kind of destiny prognostication systems, either in the past or in the future. The words in a book cobbled together from the 'approved' list of prophets & historians, discarding the texts of other 'non-approved' historians, clearly cannot be taken as truth in any context, having been assembled in such a way as to present only a certain viewpoint to the target audience in an attempt to brainwash and rewrite history. This may be fine for blind faith followers such as yourself, monica, but has no relevance in a scientific discussion of geological phenomena such as earthquakes.

Indeed, what is she doing on a scientific forum? She should know better.

It's been predicted by scientist for decades, too. "we are nearing the time of the end" Yeah, yeah, yeah. You knuckleheads have been saying that for almost 2 thousand years now. Have you ever read the story about the boy who cried wolf? Well, your story is just like that except you've got no wolf. "when everybody will have to make a decision between serving god on the right day or going along with the stream." Only have to serve your God on "the right day," eh? "this should be a wake up call for all." snore "this«ngs are going to be happening more frequent as Jesus second coming is drawing closer." Like what, adverbs are going to disappear and bad spelling will triumph over real words?
