You and I know Republicans are not to be equated with freedom, smaller government or anything remotely libertarian. Ditto Democrats. It is safe to say, however, that the voting public considers a vote for a Republican to be a vote for less government and more freedom from the state. Assuming support for a Democrat is a reliable proxy for a greater proclivity for statism—we can all agree that women have been—and continue to be—a hindrance to liberty. As I once said, I’d give up my vote if all women were denied a vote.

Okay then, you go ahead and stop registering to vote completely. And others can keep voting. See, one vote can't take away everyone else's votes unless you have magic powers or a bigger army than the one protecting the others.
You haven't made the connections clear, in your thought processes. I suggest you don't vote until you can educate yourself. I, however, will continue to vote.
@Some Guy
Republicans are influencial in America because we are a very large country with a very diverse population that has gone through a series of very rapid cultural and technological changes. Republicans know how to exploit these conditions and further create divisive situations, and they have the power to do so because they're well funded by short-sighted industrialists who think that they can avoid serious changes in their business model by stonewalling society through their conservative sock puppets. However, like every similar group before them, Republicans' fortunes are fleeting, and they lack the political skill or ideological sincerity to stop it.
Stop voting, then.
Good luck in getting other women in the US to follow your example; you wouldn't want to give up on your granite-solid 'convictions' and become like Sarah 'Quitter' FAILin. Would you?
To quote the venerable Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi: 'Winners never quit, and quitters never win . '
Otherwise, enjoy your hypocrisy. It's what all you right-wingers have in common.

That is a true statement.

That is also a true statement as well as a reflection on the sorry state of American politics.

Okay, so men can have liberty, women can't. Completely logical. Obviously part of the mind screw that is the recent rise of "authoritarian libertarianism".
@Some Guy Passing Through.
Very low political consciousness and a two-party system have worked to perpetuate Republican insanity as the real bosses behind the Republican Party keep pushing as hard as they can to the right and dragging the rest of the system with it, to the point that people like Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush are considered "moderates".
"It is safe to say, however, that the voting public considers a vote for a Republican to be a vote for less government and more freedom from the state."
It's safe to say many Republicans believe that among many other lies Republican reps feed you. Facts and stats show the direct opposite, they increase Government staff and government controls on the masses and are all always up for increases in their salaries. Their Grrrrreat if you're rich though, free ride for your fat assed inheritors for generations. We all wanna see the Hiltons, Robertsons, Trumps and such live tax free, as they do now, right?
As I once said, I’d give up my vote if all women were denied a vote.
Not going to happen. That's what the 19th Amendment guarantees.
Republicans are known for greed, hypocrisy & ignorance, not much else. As far the chicks giving up the right to vote, that ain't happening. Never was, never will. Now slink back into the kitchen, you empty headed bitch.
When I think of the Republican party, two ideas stand out the most.
#1. Megacorporations must be free of all regulations: Taxes, Laws against Pollution, laws supporting unions, fair wages, etc.
#2. A Theocratic organisation that has carte blanc to make sure that no-one is sticking their dick in another dudes butt. And to uphold other Laws based on on a strict interpretation of the OT and Pauls' Epistles.

Unless you're gay and want to get married, a woman seeking an abortion, a non-Christian wanting your government free from religious intrusion, an immigrant wanting to enter the country, black and wanting to go to the store without being harassed by the police, or black or Latino and just want to vote.

Nobody wants less government. It's like that AT&T ad where the guy asks kindergartners "who thinks more is better than less", they all raise their hands and the announcer says "it's not complicated". What people who say they want less government mean is they want the government to stop spending money on other people instead of themselves. Look what happened some years ago when the US government attempted to shut down ten military bases. The local business owners - probably good Republicans to a one - screamed bloody murder. All of a sudden some guy with a successful pizzeria or dry cleaning business saw three-quarters of his customers disappearing. After lobbying Congress, only two were eventually shut down.
Studies show that the more freedoms women have in a country, the more prosperous that country becomes.
But you don't want universal liberty, do ya, punk? You just want personal liberty; freedom from responsibilities, empathy and solidarity. You just want to use the roads, the waterways, the electricity, the running water in your taps, Internet access, etc, but you don't want to chip in and pay for your part of it.
Confused?
