"We are fighting for our children's education and our nation's future," Dunbar said
No, you are fighting to have your personal religious and political dogma taught to schoolchildren as if it were fact.
"In Texas we have certain statutory obligations to promote patriotism and to promote the free enterprise system.
And just what is patriotic about marginalizing some of our founding fathers because you find their views and writings to be inconsistent with your far right quasi-religious political ideology?
There seems to have been a move away from a patriotic ideology.
Patriotic ideology isn't defined as "Something that agrees with my personal ideology and religious beliefs", It's defined by upholding the values actually expressed and championed by our founding fathers, not your interpretation of them.
There seems to be a denial that this was a nation founded under God.
There isn't any denial, this nation was not founded "under god", a fact that is made quite clear in the US Constitution, had you bothered to read it.
There is no reference to the christian "god", or any other "god" to be found in the constitution and religion is only mentioned to point out that it has no place in goverment, nor government in religion and is not to be used as a litmus test to dertermine someones eligability to hold any public office or trust.
We had to go back and make some corrections
Except that's not what you did. You did not "correct" wrong information, you made shit up and called it "history", facts be damnned. If you are simply "making corrections", they please explain why your "corrections" run contrary to the views expressed and written down by the founders themselves? Are we to believe you when you say you know "what the founders really meant?
