All human embryos have tails which are, usually, absorbed as the embryo develops. So, by Garvan's "reasoning" all embryos are devils but most are "smitten"(sic) by human babies sometime before birth.

considering the ignorance that abounds with folks like this I'll go out on a limb and say spinal bifida, caudal appendage or just plain old genetics that decided to pop up after being dormant(guess what, fundies? This does happen!). These people think pink eye would be a sign of demonic possession.
