I think one of the reasons why Christians are so 'obsessed' with this subject is because their agenda is being shoved down our throats. They want to be recognized as equals as far as man and wife are concerned and that goes against God's Word.

They want to have the same civil rights that you take for granted, asshole.
Why aren't you equally obsessed with "their agenda" of working on Sunday, wearing mixed fabrics, shaving their beard, divorce, and non-virginity on their wedding night being "shoved down your throats"? Shouldn't you be equally concerned about those? Don't those also "go against god's word"?
