[On Dumbledore being revealed as gay.]
I suppose Rowling thought she knew best, and since it is often impossible to teach an old dog new tricks, why not work on their children. What's that term for people who think they know what's best for others, who are controlling, and seek to impose their ideas on others either overtly through force or by more subtle manipulation and subversion? Oh Yeah: fascist.

noun 1 an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government. 2 extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.
You used the wrong term, since the portrayal of homosexuals as decent people in fiction is neither right-wing, authoritarian or intolerant.
Besides which, Rowling isn't forcing you to read her books. She isn't controlling anybody.
Also, you need to stop assuming everyone who doesn't hate gay people wants to bring you to their side. In actuality, most of them would prefer to never have to talk to you. Ever.

Ahahahahaha... oh wait, you were serious?
Highly Polished Mirror award seconded.

Oh, wait... I know this one... that's fundies like you.
The sexuality question was only mentioned because some fan asked if Dumbledore had been in love. Rowling, one of those evil open-minded types, gave an honest answer.
Not that it matters, because all of the characters in her book are fictional.
Of course, I can see how you'd be confused - fundies are known for their inability tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Answer: xtian.
Because as we all know, reading a book in which one of the characters is revealed to be gay in answer to a question after publication will unavoidably make you gay. That's what happened to me. Wait, I'm straight.

Priests.
Primo, dvdmsr ought to read up on what "fascist" actually means as a political system. He might be surprised by the countries he'll recognize.
Secundo, I truly don't understand the outrage over a character's BACKSTORY revealed after the fact in response to a fan's question, while a previous character with openly gay manners (Gilderoy Lockhart, in "The Chamber of Secrets") elicited no such reaction as far as I can recall. Fundies are so inconsistent... over such trivial details...

Fixed.
