Finally, a Western country has done something sensible. For once I thought that the West is descending into chaos and anarchy because there are so many of them (it all started in 2001 with Netherlands and then most of Western Europe followed the suit - the latest being France and outside Europe the latest victim is Minnesota, USA) doing anti-Godly things by promoting homosexuality masquerading it with the same old excuse of 'human rights and equality'.I was shocked when UN recognised same sex marriage as a 'human right'. But ultimately, sensibility has prevailed. Way to go, Russia! And then the Europeans wonder why their economy is not growing- its because they are displeasing God by promoting homosexuality.

A troll, yes. But also a stupid one.
Very recently, (indeed, right after it announced support for same sex marriage) the EU economy began crawling out of its slump and begun growing again.
So now we see which side the nonexistent god is on.
Per Wikipedia:
As of 2009 real GDP increased by the highest percentage since the fall of the Soviet Union at 8.1%, the ruble remains stable, inflation has been moderate, and investment began to increase again. In 2007 the World Bank declared that the Russian economy had achieved "unprecedented macroeconomic stability".[35] Russia is making progress in meeting its foreign debts obligations. During 200001, Russia not only met its external debt services but also made large advance repayments of principal on IMF loans but also built up Central Bank reserves with government budget, trade, and current account surpluses.
The Dutch economy was hit considerably by the ongoing global financial crisis and the ensuing European debt crisis. Several banks went bankrupt, and a number of others had to receive governmental aid. In 2009 the economy declined with 3.5%, followed by two years of mild growth. The Dutch economy is currently in a recession again, with an economic decline of 0.5% in 2012. Inflation is at 2.9% in June 2013. Unemployment has been relatively low compared to other EU nations for decades but after mid-2012 it has seen a fast increase and in May 2013 it has hit 8.3%.
So we can't us their economies to refute 'God's Will' arguments. But Russia per capita income $12,247 vs the netherlands S46,142 is a pretty good way to settle the issue.
Helventia doesn't understand the business cycle. And if Russia is part of the West, why has nobody noticed for the last 500 years?
GDP per head (2012 figures)
Minnesota $46,227
Netherlands $46,142
France $41,141
Russia $14,247
I'm seeing a pattern here...
Our economy just grew.
And Germany's didn't really suffer at all.
Russia doesn't belong to the "West".
Uninformed, troll or both.
These people always seem to attribute big systems governed by the interaction of multiple factors, like the economy, to God, even though in this case it's all the result of the actions of (many, many, many) human beings.
Way to go Russia, by denying basic human rights and publicly shaming people you are encouraging neo-nazis and other extremists to come out of the closet en masse and become as violent as they can get !
Go Russia, go ! God is pleased with you ! I mean sure, all nations in the world say this is madness , and you are still struck by a terrible recession... and you lost all publicity in the Olympic Games you wanted to host, but it's great !
"Russia! And then the Europeans wonder why their economy is not growing- its because they are displeasing God by promoting homosexuality."
Russia is behind China, in the superpower stakes; certainly technologically. The 2008 Beijing Olympics. Homosexuality is legal in China.
In Soviet USA, Russia becomes more Nazi.
And in a nice case of serendipity, Helventia doesn't exist anymore on Nationstates. Maybe there is something to this karma thing after all.
That's because the nation is called "Heleventia". Can someone correct the typo above?
Russia is just barely a Western country and this is one of the reasons why. Another is that most of Russia is in Asia, only a small part is in Europe. Sure, it's the most inhabited part, but still...
Our economy IS growing! It's slowly getting back from the slump Dubbya Bush's "God-fearing" politics put us all in. The countries with same-sex marriage are the ones growing fastest.
Besides, homosexuality is hardly even mentioned in the Bible, and lesbians not at all. Loving thy neighbor and treating others like you would treat Jesus are much, much more important issues, according to the number of times they are mentioned in the Bible.
@The Crimson Ghost:
1. I didn't recognize the "recognised". He's also not European though: "And then the Europeans wonder why".
2. While I'm sorry I didn't see the spelling, I'm not sorry for assuming he's American or that the overwhelming majority of quoted people here is, because the overwhelming majority of people here is American.
3. So with all due respect, screw you.
@ UHM-That still doesn't make you any less of an arrogant little douchebag. He may not have been European but using that spelling is not American; the point still stands. When trying to make a point, you should always READ the post; it tends to help. I must commend you on your stellar job of obliterating your superiority.
With all due respect, I must respectfully decline your offer of a screwing; I don't particularly care for snotty little boys who overcompensate for their own shortcomings with lame excuses like the one offered above.
Guten tag!
Keep bitching, but gay marriage will eventually be legal in all 50 states and much of the world. No matter how much you bitch and whine, you'll never be able to force gay people back into the closet. All you homophobes will be seen the same as racist people are today.

2001. Nope, no disasters - natural or man-made - affecting that country*. Still hasn't to this day. And speaking of which, Russia...:

...2013. Yesterday , to be exact.
In Soviet Heaven, Atheist & pro -LGBT God is displeased with you . [/paradox]
*- Hyper-tolerant & Social (ist) Democratic Norway. The only country to have emerged out of this Dumbya-created recession intact. Your call.
@The Crimson Ghost: And months afterwards, after having forgotten all about this - only to be seen again after hiting random quotes, I still don't understand how missing something can make me arrogant or a douchebag. Blind maybe, not concentrated, yes.
Then again, it becomes quite apparant that either don't know what any of those words mean, or you're just trying really hard to throw those words at someone - and after all missing one letter is enough to make a good judgement abouta person, right?
Confused?
