On Sunday, Jim Adkisson entered the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee and opened fire killing two people and injuring seven more who were watching a children's production of Annie. A report from the Knoxville News Sentinel states that when police entered Jim Adkisson's home they found books by Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly.
"Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly."

The article goes on to explain Adkisson's motivation for the attack which he revealed to Steve Sills, a Knoxville Police Officer.
"Adkisson targeted the church, Still wrote in the document obtained by WBIR-TV, Channel 10, "because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of media outlets."

In fairness, being exposed to Bill O' Reilly, Michael Savage, or Sean Hannity separately could turn anyone into a ravening mad killer after enough time. I think we can just be thankful that he didn't turn into a serial killer after having subjected himself to all three of those arch-conservative demonspawn.

Right. Did he miss the part where the retarded Republican President is the one fucking things up left and right, with little or no regard for what anyone else thinks about it?
"God, I hate it when people accept those from other religions/worldviews. They're just crazy, and probably sick in the head. I know, I'll show them just how sick they are by gunning them down!"
When this story first broke someone on Yahoo Answers posted something about "so, atheists are gunning down Christians now."
I notice that the question has been removed. Apparently gunning down liberals is just fine.

Savage, Hannity, and Billo the Clown arn't media outlets?
Maybe he's just Batshit insane and just angry that he lost his job because of what the Rep. have done to this country.
I bet the fundies will say that he was killing off those heathens and blasphemers who love civil rights, woman rights, gay rights, oppose war. and love humanity in general, because 'true' Christians are 'supposed' to hate everyone who isn't one of them not love everyone, like the bible says so,
This is why we should hate religion.
@ladnil : Oh no, he's very fundamentalist. You don't have to be part of a church to be fundie. Being a fundamentalist essentially just means to base your beliefs off of one thing and one things only, which he did.
Reading those media trolls didn't make this guy crazy; his inability to empathize with other human beings and his flagrant disregard for life are what make him crazy.
The three stooges whose books he bought - they just gave him the vocabulary to express his pent-up rage. They're no more responsible for his actions than Rockstar is for those who use the (totally fucking awesome!) GTA4 game as an excuse for ramming real cars and killing real people.
And suddenly i recall all the times cons like Coulter said stuff like how Liberals had to be intimidated so they knew they could be killed, how all of her readers kept saying she was just joking and conservatives didn't mean it and how dumb Liberals were for not getting the joke about killing them.
I wonder if they still try to pass off that BS.
I am always shocked and appalled when people trash liberals and liberalism, usually linking them to terrorists, perverts and blaming them for everything they believe is wrong with society.
A quick lookup of the definition of liberalism and it's obvious that liberalism is the defense of freedom of speech and thought, the rights of the individual, religious freedoms and the free market, amongst other things.
How can anyone be against freedom of speech and thought and still present themselves as rational and reasonable? How can you say you are for family values when you want to impose a pre-existing set of values on other people and ban freedom of thought for being too dangerous and 'leading people a-stray'?
Liberalism and liberals are the champions of freedoms in whichever country they operate, they are not tree-hugging, flower power, peace and love not war and 'criminals just need understanding' people, they are simply those of us who champion our freedoms and don't want them replaced with 'absolutes' either from the bible or imposed by men like Bill O'Really.
I wish people would educate themselves instead of believing what they see on Fox news and what neo-conservative twats spout in the media to keep us all scared.
My condolences to the families of those murdered.

This is quite possibly the most brilliant explaination I have ever read. Thank you.
