@Natalie
"They are silly, however, going on about the tower of Babel. I've never heard them say that the Empire State building, Chrystler building, Sears Tower, or any other tall American building was a prideful attempt by man to reach god."
How do they explain Apollo 11 in 1969? Or even Yuri Gagarin in 1961:
'I looked and looked, but I didn't see God'
Or the International Space Station right now? Certainly infinitely higher than the Burj Dubai. Don't see God doing anything about those (or the Taipei 101 in Taipei, Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Sears Tower in Chicago, or Jin Mao Building in Shanghai). They're all massively taller than the Tower of Babel, Daniel1210. Could the reason be (check one):
[ ] God must be terrified by the phallic imagery, to the extent that it's resulted in winkie shrinkage of his own, with lessening of his omnipotence as a side-effect (thus he can't do anything about said buildings, nor the ISS in orbit), therefore he's no longer God.
[ ] God doesn't exist. As proved by Yuri Gagarin piercing that dome described in the Bible, thus at a single stroke science (and Soviet science, at that) destroying the bible cosmologically.
Choose wisely. And keep moving those scriptural goalposts whenever science makes new discoveries. You fundies must have metaphorical arms like Atlas's by now!
