I figure that any study linking homosexuality to depression only looks into half of the equation. The other half is the cause, which is often fundamentalists' bullying. The other studies: citation needed.
And most people in western societies consider women's bodies more aesthetically pleasing than men's bodies. (just look at the pictures of magazines dedicated to either gender; not a whole lot of difference between Cosmo and FHM...) Thus women might be more inclined to experiment than men.
JCPenney isn't going to change that.

Last I read, didn't lesbians have a lower rate of STDs than other gender and sexual identities? And conservatives may as well claim that sex causes breast cancer, since they're convinced any use of a vagina for any reason other than birth causes breast cancer.

I have noticed something about the word "research," when used by our two groups. When you fundies say the word you let it stand alone with no link to actual research, yet when we bring up the word we attach links to articles in respected journals. What can we infer from that little fact?
Maybe gay women are more likely to be depressed and turn to illegal substances because they have to deal with bigots like Bryan Fischer.
Also,lesbians do not have increased levels of breast cancer and vaginal diseases.
Causation and correlation, ring a bell? If lesbians are more depressed and suicidal, that's because bigoted parts of society treat them as second class citizens. If they have more breast cancer and other types of cancer, it's because pregnancy protect against certain kinds of cancer, and lesbians have a bit of a problem getting pregnant. I, as an infertile heterosexual woman, run the same increased risk of those types of cancer. They do, however, run reduced risk of catching STDs, and other types of cancer.
Either you are attracted to women, or you aren't. Experimentation won't change that.
