[About the movie God's Not Dead :]
One character unceremoniously finishes a relationship because his girlfriend is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Admittedly few people would be that selfish, yet if Darwinian evolution is the only explanation for our existence surely he is just acting in a consistent way with his purpose of propagating his genes with a healthier woman?

Watch the movie Creation sometime. It's a real weeper about how Darwin developed the theory of evolution while mourning the passing of his daughter.
As for Adrian's point, if we are going to use individual action as a reason to shit on atheism, , I would point out there are more then a few professed Christians who have done similar or worse. Newt Gingrich, for example, dropped off the divorce papers at the hospital where his wife was fighting breast cancer. Classy, no?
Except Evolution doesn't require anyone to take any specific sort of action.
As for the character in the movie, was he based on Newt Gingrich?
Who now?
Excuse me but many churchs that are against divorce have loopholes that allow it under that very aspect, having children. Many sects demand children from you.
An Atheist that really wants kids may abondone their mate but at least that's THEIR decision.
Men are more likely than women to leave when their partner is diagnosed with cancer. Including the "Good Christian" guys. It indicates that men are less capable of being a caregiver and/or not able to cope emotionally when their partner is seriously ill and/or facing death. TOE and survival of the fittest does not dictate what an individual should do in order to procreate. Human relationships do not work that way. Obviously a man would not abandon his wife or girlfriend because he no longer views her as viable breeding stock.
Dealing with a life-threatening illness and the possibility of death is incredibly stressful on a relationship. Couples are also more likely to split when a child has a disability or becomes severely ill.
This fool clearly has no idea what evolution means! I, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, would be more than happy to teach him, but I sincerely doubt that even one as brilliant as I could make any progress with him and his stubborn refusal to accept any dissenting viewpoints.
Also, I would make a Newt Gingrich comment, but I can see that you fine folks already have that covered.
"One character unceremoniously finishes a relationship because his girlfriend is diagnosed with terminal cancer."
Is that maybe the full intent of that character in the plotline? A couple professed devote Christians of the Republican party have done this sort of thingbut maybe, just maybe we can convince the flock this is totally an Atheist thing?
The whole movies one piece of caculated propaganda in the first place.
Confused?
