[On the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby]

I was looking over on Facebook on my Congressman's FB page, they certainly have been slamming him over this because he supported the Supreme Court decision.

The logic that this is a "war on women" is completely unfounded. An employer should not have to facilitate the need to support the sexual misconduct of employees (whether male or female) outside of the workplace, in the area of either contraceptives or abortion pills.

If an employee wants to fool around, they should have to pay for that fooling around. In the end.....they will pay for that fooling around.....

I'll only say this once.

Nobody deserves to suffer. Ever.

Yes, there are cruel people in the world. Yes, there are criminals, and criminals get sent to prison, but prison shouldn't be a place of suffering. It should be a place where dangerous people are kept away from the rest of society, given therapy if they have a mental illness, etc... The vast majority of humans know right from wrong and have a functioning sense of guilt. That guilt will do the job of "correction" (eugh, I feel dirty) just fine.

Back on topic, we, as a society, should do everything within our power to make sure that nobody is truly suffering without infringing on anyone's rights. This will be difficult, to say the least. But what's the use of the tribe if the people in it are in pain?

I'd just like to say up front I wouldn't be a woman in America if you paid me. In all of western civilization they are easily the worst treated. This having been said.....

1. If you had proper universal healthcare like the rest of western civilization instead of this cobbled together shambles none of this would be happening.

2. It's a bit rich to deny contraception to women and then criticize for or even stop them from getting abortions.

3. It is even more rich to then complain because there are millions of children being born to women or couples which they cannot afford and then have to claim welfare to help cover costs. Which is a lot more expensive than the cost of the little pill which would have stopped all this from happening.

4. Until you have a properly functioning government and stop having government by an unelected in the job till they die judiciary then totally irrational decisions like this will continue to hinder social progress within your society.

Unfortunately we probably would still have fundie problems even with universal health coverage, because then they'd be screaming that they shouldn't be forced to contribute tax money to a system that's contrary to their supposed religious beliefs. They already got away with this in the seventies after abortion was legalized, by passing a bill (of which redundant additional laws have now also been passed) preventing tax dollars from going to any abortion service or clinic. Women who now have private insurance with BC coverage might actually be worse off under such a system in this case.

Don't they also invest in companies that make contraceptives? They can earn money on them, but women can't benefit from them?

What fooling around are you talking about? If you fool around, you use condoms. Contraceptive pills, IUD's and implants are probably mostly used within steady relationships and marriages, by people who think that every child born ought to have the right to be expected and wanted, to not be just another inevitable nuisance. Thousands upon thousands of women use contraceptive pills to cure disfiguring acne, hemorrhaging periods, erratic periods, constant periods etc, etc, etc.

In the end, Hobby Lobby will pay for their war on women, when more of their employees are on maternity leave, or have to call in sick due to their former-pill-treated conditions stopping them from going to work. They will also lose company credibility, and millions of people in Europe, who've hardly heard of Hobby Lobby before, now know that they are firmly against equal rights. We still don't know what H.L. do, but we do know that they hate women.

As far as I understand it, there never were any abortion pills included in the first place.

It's a good thing for Hobby Lobby that no women are interested in arts and crafts, that only ruggedly manly-men use their glittering, sticky products, right?

Not only does this decision fly in the face of freedom of choice, Hobby Lobby's hypocrisy knows no limits-their investment portfolio includes pharmaceutical manufacturers who make the dreaded BC pills they deny to their own employees. They also allow Viagra & vasectomies. Hypocrisy, thy name is Christianity.

On a lighter note-this will cause massive blowback. To christianity itself, Hobby Lobby & the SCOTUS. This will go down in history as one of the worst decision they've ever made. Also, it will help the GOP sink into the quagmire even faster, since they don't seem to be too concerned with "reaching out to women".

Essentially-fuck you, fuck the supreme court, fuck Hobby Lobby & fuck christianity. Oh, & fuck you too Meeeh.

This was covered in the beginning of the healthcare debate but is still being used as a religious weapob.

Cut and dried and labeled and finished people: Insurance companies would rather pay for birth control as it's cheaper than pregnacies, even with most birth control being prescribed for menstrual relif, it's still cheaper.

What we have here is religion dictating business practices, demanding not that the goverment remove this service but that the insurance companies, mandated in ENTIRELY by the Republicans, under the concept of "no one should tell business how to do business" TAKING ORDERS FROM CHRISTIAN DOGMAS.

And to top ot all of, in typical Christian hipocracy, the HobbyLobby folks invest money in birth control products.

Y'all need to get back to those founding father standards, when Christian sensibilities got a "so what?, who made you boss?" response.

To further educate you, many women have medical issues which prevent them from using hormonal birth control pills, making the IUD and the few other barrier methods their only options. IUDs can be as much as $1000, not including the multiple office visits involved, which also would not be covered. Other women can tolerate some forms of pills and not others, so if one is covered and another isn't, those women are screwed, too. All BC is expensive. Try getting it, plus office visits, on minimum wage.

As for your equally ignorant, Limbaugh-generated "sugar daddy" remark, when you go to a pharmacy and get a $2 or $4 antibiotic or other cheap prescription on your insurance plan, who do you think is paying the rest of the cost for that drug? Who pays the lion's share of your hospital or doctor bill, or the full cost of your preventive services? That's right, the insurance company to whom you PAY PREMIUMS to get that benefit. Are you asking your sugar daddy to pay when you file that claim? No, you're just getting the full medical coverage you're paying for, which is what women expect when they need contraceptives. Birth control is not optional.

Now, STFU and go back to the Freepers, where you belong.
