Back in college when I first started paying attention, I noticed something bizarre.
The popular perception is that feminists hate men. This is not perfectly accurate. Feminists envy men. In reality, the thing that feminists hate and wish to see utterly annihilated and forgotten is... women.
I came to this conclusion after observing that feminists do not only seek to see traditional "manly" pursuits made available to women. They also wish to prevent women from engaging in traditional "womanly" pursuits, e.g. homemaking and childbirth. Anything that smacks of a distinctive "female" identity is viciously attacked, while "male" pursuits are lauded as worthy "empowering" ambitions. Their ideal world is one composed entirely of creatures which are masculine in appearance, ability, and appetite.
In my opinion, those who say that feminism is a "war against men" have it exactly backwards. Feminism is a war against woman kind.
From this perspective, the well known alliance between feminists and male gays takes on a suggestive new context.

The sad thing is that there really are people out there who claim to be for women but denigrate the feminine at every opportunity.
Damn you Krul, being almost right about something! You're on Vox Populi, you're not supposed to come close to actually being right ever!
" In reality, the thing that feminists hate and wish to see utterly annihilated and forgotten is... women. "
Mass suicide is not a good way to defeat an oppressive society.
Most feminists I've seen believe that it's a woman's choice to get out of the traditional role of being a homemaker and mother if she chooses to do so. But they're not "preventing" women from doing that if they choose.
It's really bizarre the way these people think if they think that feminists hate women.

What suggestive new context?
Dirty minds want to know.
But, since my mind could never be as dirty and disordered as a fundie's, I have no idea what he's sputtering on about.

You looked in the mirror, didn't you?
I don't know any feminists that are against child birth and feminists are fine with "feminine" things such as sewing and other crafts. They don't like women being homemakers, true, but that's because they feel that most women who are homemakers are forced into that role by virtue of being a woman and not because the woman wants to do it or is really good at it.
The depiction of feminists in media are NOT realistic and do NOT represent feminism. What you see on TV and in movies are typically straw feminists, grotesque parodies meant to weaken the image of feminism and women in general.
And these portrayals do NOT count as evidence. Sorry. Wanksock.

Let me guess... you spotted some extremist Rad-Fems and decided that they were the only "true" Feminists?
Maybe you should have continued paying attention... you might have noticed where you'd gone wrong.
@ dionysus - Shumiath (sic) Firestone once said that pregnancy is barbaric. Then again she was a bit weird.
What I hate about yhis sort of stuff is that it ignores feministsbwjo actually take into account motherhood such as care theorists and people like Sara Ruddick.
In all fairness, I did find it odd that some of my friends in college did want a "traditional" female role. In that their plans were to graduate, get married, have many children, and be a stay-at-home mom. I found it a waste of educational resources.
But then I grew up a bit and realized it's their right to choose, no matter what I think. Krul obviously didn't make it that far.
Also, Krul = cruel? I'd say Poe but this is a pretty common viewpoint at Vox.
Actually, some 'strong feminists' do have a habit of condemning women for being housewives, etc, even though being a housewife is by the woman's choice - but this is not applicable to feminism as a whole.
We have now found the only thing less rational that Vox Day; one of his idiot followers.
Also, removing misogynistic stereotypes about women set up by men... how is that bad?
Krul, it seems like you went to college in the Seventies or, at the latest, the early Eighties, and stopped paying attention when you left college. Feminism has moved on. So should you.
The definition of "feminine" here, like his definition of "masculine" is a stereotype, a culturally-conditioned role, at least partly.
^^
How do you get laid Dr Steve Brule? Describe in detail.
I'm sure it will be an interesting topic, and at least as relevant to Krul's criticism of feminism as your original comment, or any of the other mental masturbation here.

I was starting to think! It frightened me so much I stopped at once, and I haven't dared do it again!
...So feminists argue for women's rights... because they hate women...
That is some of the most ridiculous non-logic I have ever read. It appears that Vox Day's followers are just as dumb as he is.
The scary thing is that Vox Day actually has followers.
Huh. I'm a feminist and yet am told I am very feminine looking. Perhaps I do have a "masculine" appetite, though - especially when good steak is involved.
ETA - Did he have this epiphany whilst attending Clown College?
The popular perception might be that feminists hate men, but the truth is that feminists love equality.
I simply love being a female, I have no penis envy whatsoever. When my husband has an orgasm, he sleeps for about an hour afterwards. When I have an orgasm, I can have another in just a few minutes afterwards.
We also want men to engage in traditional "womanly" pursuits, e.g. homemaking and childcare. And in that "we" I include all the feminist men that I know and love.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
