You're lame... there are no atheists in foxholes!!! Atheism is a religion just like every other...[...]
I am sure that all who created technology were not atheist. It just becomes a convenient truth for people with the incapacity to deal with their own shortcomings.
Take it from me, I am not that religious!!!

"You're lame..."
No, really, I can walk alright.
"there are no atheists in foxholes!!!"
Sure there are. Not everyone needs an imaginary friend to cope with the tough times.
"Atheism is a religion just like every other..."
No, atheism is NOT a religion. Even if it were, it would not be like other religions as atheism does not require belief in any ridiculous assertions.

"I am sure that all who created technology were not atheist."
That is patently false. Thomas Edison was an atheist. I here he invented a couple of things.
"It just becomes a convenient truth for people with the incapacity to deal with their own shortcomings."
That's a perfect description of why people adopt religion.
"Take it from me, I am not that religious!!!"
Apparently, you're not that bright, either.
I'd be curious to know how many World War I veterans -- i.e. the people who "fought" on the front lines (and by "fought" I mean proceeded on a death march into the futile meatgrinder that was no-man's-land) and came back -- were regular churchgoers after the war ended. I'd have to think that the very existence of the Christmas truce indicated that the soldiers on both sides didn't buy into the causes the brass were pushing, and that would have to be huge blow to anyone's sense of faith (especially since WWI essentially saw the elimination of the last vestiges of the "divine right of kings" in most countries).
Atheist in a foxhole here (well, not technically, because we don't use foxholes anymore, but I'm in the military), saying fuck off, asshole.
Reminds me of a story about Bertrand Russel. While filling out a form, he listed his religion as "agnostic". The guy reviewing the form noted it and said "that's a new one - oh well, I guess we all worship the same god."
What's the 'no atheists in foxholes' claim prove anyhow?
That mythologies have more truth in them? Nope.
That I'm not really an atheist? Nah.
That atheism is theism? No.
I mean, I just don't get the point. What if a lot of people believe temporarily in religion when they're scared? What on Earth does that prove? I mean, I'm afraid of strong winds and heavy rains. Now that the weather is calm, I know that the house is going to hold when subjected to bad weather. Norwegian houses are built tough. However, when bad winds actually kicks in and the walls start creaking... it's a lot harder to believe that.
But does that mean anything? Nope. Certainly not that the house won't hold next time a storm comes along.
So, atheist is a religion, like any other, but you Christians are not?, define "any other", please.
"... there are no atheists in foxholes!!!"
Hi, MM3 Johnson here. I'm an atheist. What now, bitch?
478,000 soldiers of the red army died in Stalingrad so you didn't have to write this in german. do you think being on watch in the cold, with nazis all around, would magically make them believe in god? do you think burning to a crisp in flamethrower fuel after being seen as a sniper would? or perhaps having a fortified building cave in on you while operating anti-tank weaponry from the cellar would make someone suddenly become a christian?
no. but you should thank these men nevertheless.
you disgust me, you ignorant and inconsiderate fucktard.
It's so incoherent that it merits some parody. This "not so religious" may realllly love foxes.
But it's true that science doesn't mean atheism. It's usually alienated fanatic ultrafundamentalists who confuse the two and irrationally propose an ironic "theistic science", pseudoscientific Lysenkoism. They demonize reality and knowledge, so promote hate speech against an "atheism" straw man that really targets society and knowledge at large, everything that's not what their cult dictates as "truth".
In science, it doesn't matter if you're religious or not, or what religion it is. If you do real science and use the universal scientific method, you distinguish between your private life and beliefs and your methodological work. The process includes means to deal with human fallacies, confirmation bias, conflict of interest, peer review, replication, etc.
If your ultrafundamentalism prevents you from achieving education and working in science, that's another matter, however. The problem there is the abusive cult restricting your freedom, not science. The same if they mislead you and force you to reject reliable knowledge of the natural world supported by overwhelming evidence.
Confused?
