Don't expect the "mainstream" media to notice the biting irony here: The people they like to portray as the champions of free inquiry and scientific literacy are the very ones trying to dumb-down science curricula in order to suppress information they find uncomfortable. Fortunately, Americans still have the freedom to investigate the truth for themselves, which is why the Darwinists' current strategy will be such a loser over the long term. Trying to stamp out the discussion of ideas you don't like is a sign of insecurity, and thoughtful people will eventually see through such tactics.

Strategy? Science doesn't have a "strategy". It deals in facts. It doesn't have an agenda. That would be the realm of Creationists.
No one in the The so-called MSM is going to be stupid enough, in a science piece, to say "The fossils, which are around 1.5 million years old (or 6000, according to Creationists)...".

Down which "scientific" curricula, a religion class with speaking snakes, people made of dirt and ribs and guys living up to 900 years?, I think that there is too much evidence to the contrary not to even think about that.
I noticed, John. Your whole letter just screams of "biting irony", "dumbed down science", "supressing information that you find uncomfortable", and "trying to stamp out the discussion of ideas you don't like". Fortunately "thoughtful people see through such tactics" that you fundies use in an attempt to teach religion in place of science!
Creationists accusing evolutionists of dumbing down? That makes so little sense that I may now actually go insane from reading it. NOBODY dumbs down modern scientific thought better than a rabid theist - in their versions, evolution = gnat giving birth to a cow; abiogenesis = lump of rock turns into a single celled organism in about five minutes; and anything containing a single strand of human dna = human being.
In a way, he's right. The information they find "uncomfortable" is the information showing Genesis to be bullshit. There's no way a public school teacher would get away with ripping Genesis apart, especially in the Bible Belt where Southern Baptists are a majority. The fundies would have a fit.
Let public school teachers tell about SN 1987 and HERVs. Let them present the material on TalkOrigins as well as AnswersInGenesis. Then kids who haven't been indoctrinated yet will see how Southern Baptist balony about YEC is a load of crap.
and who was it that had a tendancy to burn people who had differing ideas to themselves, let me give you a hint, its logo is a roman torture implement, it claims to be pacifist and yet it has a small army (swiss guard) and it is filthy rich due to extorting money from the poor. It appears that you just described your church my friend

No, we dumb it down in the (usually vain) hope that dumbasses like you will be able to understand some dim semblance of reality.

The theory of evolution has been around for over 150 years. It is studied and respected by scientists all over the world. It has demonstrated numerous practical applications in a variety of fields. It is not going away any time soon.
Confused?
