[Concerning the "Innocence of Muslims" film.]
It [the film] won't be the last insulting act as long as Imam Khomeini's historic order on executing the blasphemous Salman Rushdie is not carried out. If the imam's order was carried out, the further insults in the form of caricatures, articles and films would not have taken place. The impertinence of the grudge-filled enemies of Islam, which is occurring under the flag of the Great Satan, America and the racist Zionists, can only be blocked by the absolute administration of this Islamic order.

Your "Islamic order" is seen as a barbarism by the modern civilised world. It's archaic, and needs to be fased out. Islam will either evolve into a less insane doctrine, or it will face extinction because it is not compatible with the rest of the world.
the only reason Islam still thrives is because some islamic nations have vast amounts of oil in the ground. Without that, Islam would be just another backwards desert dogma without any influence.
As soon as alternative energy sources are abundantly available, islam's influence on the world will rapidly diminish.
If these "Islamic orders" are carried out, the Western world will not be content with merely caricatures, articles and films. It will defend human rights and freedom of speech more forcefully than it does today.
If you can't withstand questioning of your faith, then you REALLY ought to question your faith.
Oh, wow. He thinks we're scared of him.
If your entire religion can be irreparably mocked by a few silly drawings then it must be built on pretty shoddy ground. Say, on fear and ignorance rather than on inspiration.
We've already won, you see. While you're consigned to your medieval dustbin marked 'embarrassment to humanity', clinging on to whichever poor and desperate people still see you as a superior alternative to their reality, we're getting on with the 21st century.
Maybe if you can stop being such a backward ass and bring your flavour of Islam out of the dark ages you can join us sometime.
tl;dr: "I'm the bully! Now burn the witch!"
"If the imam's order was carried out, the further insults in the form of caricatures, articles and films would not have taken place."
No, honey. We like to piss people off until they shut up, so pretty much the exact opposite would have happend.
Yes, yes, we must kill writers, moviemakers, artists and others who display 'entartente' ideas and thoughts. The minds of the Islamic Volk, the Ummah must be kept pure.
Bollocks to you, you medieval throwback. It's no wonder Islam has enemies with idiots like you in charge of (parts) of it. I'd leave off making yet more enemies, if I were you. It can't end well for you.
If your so insecure about your religion that you feel you have to kill anyone who criticizes it, then maybe it's not a religion worth following and you need to reevaluate your faith. Too bad idiots like the ayatollah can't see that the reason people attack Islam is because there are so many radical loonies who want to kill anyone who ridicules it.

Read your own quote, and think about why your religion has enemies. Is your God so weak he needs you to defend him, to kill for him? Can't he defend his own prophet as well? You are the one insulting Islam.
Yeah and if we had carpet bombed the middle east fundie Muslims would be terrified to say or do anything ever again. If we had the same lack of respect for human life the middle east would be a smoking crater. But that's the thing, we don't have that level of disrespect for human life. At least not the majority of us. But if you keep killing our people you are only raising more sympathy for people like Tancredo who wants to nuke Mecca. Don't give morons like him any legitimacy.
@whatever
It was never withdrawn, and Iranian officials say the only one who can withdraw a fatwa is the person who issued it. This would be tricky as Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini is dead. In 2005 Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reaffirmed the fatwa, and in 2006 it was declared permanent.
"It [the film] won't be the last insulting act as long as Imam Khomeini's historic order on executing the blasphemous Salman Rushdie is not carried out. If the imam's order was carried out, the further insults in the form of caricatures, articles and films would not have taken place."
You'd think so, wouldn't you? You'd be fucking wrong though.
"The impertinence of the grudge-filled enemies of Islam, which is occurring under the flag of the Great Satan, America and the racist Zionists, can only be blocked by the absolute administration of this Islamic order."
Kiss our collective ass, numbnuts.
Q: What's worse than a religious fanatic?
A: A religious fanatic with his head firmly ensconced in his ass.
And no, I'm not insulting Islam, I'm insulting you , Hassan.
Did you know that in my culture, your proclaiming "Death to those who insult Islam", without you actually denying the 'insult', means you are acknowledging that it's claims are true?
>>administration of this Islamic order<<
As with Christian fundies, we can ask: which is "this" Islamic order?
Sunni, Shia, Sufi, Ibadi, Ahmadiyya, Quranism, or one of the even smaller branches?
Hassan Sanei is from Iran, so he most likely means Shia. Does he really think that Sunni Muslims would go along with 'absolute administration' of a Shia Islamic order? And Sunni Muslims outnumber Shia by at least a factor of 4.
And even within Shia Islam, there is Twelver Shia (most common in Iran), Zaidi (biggest in Yemen), Ismaili, and others.
"Islamic order", like "a Christian nation", means so many different things to different people that it is meaningless.
All these moves towards making blasphemy illegal in various countries must be quashed. I'd prefer to just be an atheist minding my own business, but when religion threatens people and civil rights, it becomes my business.
Now, I am for religions that spout peace and kindness, which I am sure Islam has, but if you are going to be so easily trolled by this shmuck bait, you may need to reconsider your philosophies and not try to act as a representative of a "peaceful" religion.
To those insulting Islam directly? You are as bad as someone who accuses all Christians as being Christian fundies. This guy is an islamic fundie and he's just as a bafoon as they are. Blaming the entire relgiion, especially since it has two sects that are as split as the Orthodox, Protestant, and Catholic churches are split, is insane. I take extra offense because my cousins are muslim and they are perfectly reasonable people I love as family.
Seriously though, the 'film' was nothing less than a troll move that fundies like him are too far up their own ass to get.
> Seriously though, the 'film' was nothing less than a troll move that fundies like him are too far up their own ass to get.
Seems like it worked. If someone is ready to kill over a film, they should be trolled out of existence.
This is why the modern world continues to look upon Islam as a barbaric society. While this is a snap judgment on the part of most people, moderate Islam is not helping it's case any by not immediately condemning these Fatwas.
Islam would do well to remember that a whole nation is not responsible for the making of a movie, or the writing of a book, or the publishing of cartoons.
"John_in_Oz
Did you know that in my culture, your proclaiming "Death to those who insult Islam", without you actually denying the 'insult', means you are acknowledging that it's claims are true?"
Well, according to Islamic sources (i.e. The Hadith) this actually is all true. The insult lays mainly in portraying the prophet of Islam, NOT the facts presented. You see very few angry Muslims carrying around signs saying it's all lies now do you?
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula (aka "Sam Bacile," since he's apparently too big a coward to own up to the bile he spews) deserves to be ridiculed for his bigotry, and yes, he does also deserve to be sued into oblivion or jailednot for religious blasphemy, but rather for lying to the actors and intentionally misrepresenting what he was really creating, defaming them and potentially ruining their careers in the process.
But Nakoula certainly does not deserve to be executed. Way to give him ammunition to use about his claims, dipshit.
Its only a movie you dipshit.
Make one yourself in reply.
Show graphic scenes of Paul of Tarsus abusing small boys, and making up the bible while drunk. Portray christianity as a cult of violent drunken pedophiles.
Make another exploring the absurd intricacys of jewish holy law... including all those crazy racial purity laws that pretty much mandate incest.
You lack the means to avenge yourselves by violence, and any attempt will only intensify the rain of bombs that fall on your already devastated citys. So why not use film as a weapon of revenge instead.
When your tormentors scream for the blood of more muslims, tell them "its only a movie you dipshit".
@shykid:
He's already been convicted and jailed three times before: for intent to manufacture meth, for violating his probation on that charge, and for bank fraud.
I doubt the judge and jury will look favorably upon him this time, since he was in violation of his probation on the fraud charge (the terms of his release included not using any aliases and he also lied to investigators about his involvement in the film).
Wikipedia informs me that Nakoula has been arrested and faces up to 3 years imprisonment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Basile ). I don't know if he will be safer in jail or not.
So you guys see this video that portrays Islam as a religion of violence, and your response is to wish Islam had been more violent.
That is what we call on the Internet self-pwnage.
Oh, he really doesn't know how the West would react to Rushdie's murder, does he? He think we'd cower in fear?
PAH! Fool. It would enrage reasonable people everywhere, and enraged people can do some nasty things. Attacks on Khomeini's person/legacy would increase, and maybe even negative portrayals of the Prophet Mohammed. And even if that didn't happen, it wouldn't scare us.
Iran might have nuclear weapons.
The United States does have nuclear weapons.
Just remember that, Ayatollah Hassan Sanei, the next time you want to put out a Fatwa on an American.
Why all the invective and violence, dear Ayatollah, if your religion is indeed so wonderful? How come you don't just win converts to it simply by prozelytizing the ignorant masses, who are sure to welcome it with open arms if only they heard the revealed word, correctly spoken? Because without the threat of violence and without indoctrination, especially of children, Islam doesn't have a leg to stand on, and is shown for what it is, a feeble plagiarism of other, equally foolish myths and folk tales. This is not the imperative of "Zionists" or "the Great Satan", but any rational, thinking person.
As for threatening those who criticize or abandon Islam with violence in the hope that it will silence them, you can forget about it. The time for timidness is over. It will only encourage people further to speak out, as it should. Get used to it.
An uneducated imbecile like you wouldn't get past the first page of The Satanic Verses. Nobody over here in the 21st century gives two shits whether you're offended or not. Your god, like all gods, doesn't exist, so take your fatwa and fuck off.
Captain Falcon,
1988.
And I think Khomeini took it as a personal insult.
The character "The Imam" was an asshole and was very much based on Khomeini.
What do you do when you win?
If you ever wonder where the anti-Muslim sentiment in some of the quotes here comes from, here you go.
At least it's good to see something other than the same Christian fundies over and over again.
@Paler Face
"Islam will either evolve into a less insane doctrine, or it will face extinction because it is not compatible with the rest of the world."
No it won't. If fundy Christianity is still alive and well in the USA (and elsewhere), fundy Islam will still thrive in the Middle East. Sorry, but as long as doctrines contain the concept of eternal Hell for non-adherants, the fundies will always be there, pushing their extremist views with all their strength.
@Captain Falcon and Canuovea
24 years? A long time? Come on, we're talking about religion here! In 1000 years from now, effigies of Salman Rushdie will still be burned, together with effigies of Bush and Blair. And possibly Pat Condell...
@Berny
Islam would do well to remember that a whole nation is not responsible for the making of a movie, or the writing of a book, or the publishing of cartoons.
Again, with most Islamic theocracies the government either produces all movies, books, and publishing or has final approval on what gets produced or published, so when someone in a western country produces a book or movie insulting Islam, they assume that that country's government approves of or actually produced said book or movie. So instead of being outraged and upset at the person who produced the book or movie, they become outraged at the entire country they happen to live in.
It has always been the fantasy of fools and lunatic-fringe fanatics that all they have to do is one last thing, like killing Rushdie, and their imagined "enemy" will collapse in terror. In reality, every time they do something like that, the "enemy" just stomps their teeth in and things get even worse for them.
Someone once said that the sign of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
@waking up:
"Wow, I thought this site was full of the "it's okay because it's part of their culture" type. Interesting to not see you grovel. "
It's so considerate of you to deliver your fundie dumbness right to our front door.
Now go back to sleep.
I met your Imam Khomeini once, he was raping my dog, so I kicked him till the Prophet Muhammad came out his backside. Will You tell him to stay off my dogs! They're all male and they're too old for that kind of stuff.

So hopefully this ends the nonsense about us never quoting Muslims. Hell, these are just the ones I was easily able to search for. I bet there's more in here that I've forgotten about.
"It [the film] won't be the last insulting act as long as Imam Khomeini's historic order on executing the blasphemous Salman Rushdie is not carried out."
Ali Khameni called on god to strike down Rushdie. So, Ali Khameni died.
"If the imam's order was carried out, the further insults in the form of caricatures, articles and films would not have taken place."
No, you would have just gotten the west angrier faster.
"The impertinence of the grudge-filled enemies of Islam, which is occurring under the flag of the Great Satan, America and the racist Zionists, can only be blocked by the absolute administration of this Islamic order."
Like you've successfully imposed Islamic order on Israel?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
