This websites been down for a couple of days, so I apologise for my late reply:
Of course, government interference in a non-government-sponsored religion would be a bad idea. Of course, here in the U.S. at least, the distinction between civil marriages (which are non-church affiliated) and religious marriages (which have no specific legal standing, and which may, at the discretion of the individual denomination, restrict marriage in any way they feel appropriate) hasn't kept the Pharisee set from demanding that their denomination's criteria for an acceptable marriage be adopted by the state as well.
Agreed, its a terrible idea. That's one of the things that America got right - protecting religion from government by totally removing any connection between the two - hence why you are allowed to worship and act as you will.
Technically, you are only spouting off about how you don't think gays should be allowed to have the same rights as straights, but then you must admit that no action by gays is affecting your right to live as you please, either. If your free speech has no effect on them, their free speech has no effect on you.
As Ive pointed out before, action by gay activists has affected Christian freedom of morality and speech. Christian's do not hate gays - we are commanded to love everybody, but we are also commanded to bear witness in the face of sin.
So tough shit Homophobe boy!
'Homophobe' is the most pathetic term ever to be coined (by gay activists, I might add).
It is ridiculous to say that I am afraid of homosexuals. As stated before, I do not agree with their lifestyle, and do not believe that it should be encouraged. I've met many more 'heterophobes' in my lifetime, than I have 'homophobes'. Anyway, who says Im a boy?
say sorry to the US, this is a home(UK)grown fundy. We've recently had a law enacted that stops people running commercial enterprises from discriminating against gays (in the sam eway as they can't discriminate against black and other ethnic minorities). And it really pisses some of the bigots off!
Is that a call for me to apologise? I have no need to discriminate against people of ethnic minorities, but I don't see why the church should be forced into marrying gays, giving babies up for adoption by gays, allowing gays into church office, etc.
There is now talk in the UK of adding transexuals to the same law, and enhancing the SOR's even further. This means that transexuals are under no obligation to disclose their actual gender, and are free to give their acquired, fake gender if asked. So a man, who has undertaken the appearance of a woman could freely engage in any activity that are designed exclusively for women (where men are not normally allowed). It's ridiculous really, and the hole has to stop being dug, before it is impossible to climb back out.
