Jon Hill: I dont want to get too carried away, but no-one has ever been able to prove inconsistency in the bible without being refuted and silenced by evidence for more than a month at a time. Well the Da-Vinci code lasted for a little longer, but not even that has stood the test of time.
As for the quran, it starts of by telling us that the earth is held on the back of four elephants, and that earthquakes are the result of them shuffling their feet. You dont have to have a phD in rocket science to see through that one. Yet the bible makes cosmic claims, which for some "strange" reason, though penned before the quran, have made no false assumptions.

There isn't a single "cosmic claim" made by the Bible that has survived close examination.
Not a one.
Genesis is nothing but false assumptions.
That's the beauty of Christianity. Just close your eyes, and forget everything you know about logic, and reality, and IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!
Yeah the bible only talks about pillars holding up the earth which is flat and surrounded by a dome of water called the firmament, which in turn has a window where god lets in rain, and tiny holes in it where one can see light shining through in the middle of the night.
I'm not even going to get into man being created twice, women twice and for different reasons, talking snakes, and god making light before making the sun.
Yeah, those other religions are just ZANY aren't they?
Quran starts with:
1: The Opening
1:1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1:2 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds,
1:3 The Beneficent, the Merciful.
1:4 Master of the Day of Judgment,
1:5 Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.
1:6 Show us the straight path,
1:7 The path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.
Lying for jayzus, eh?

And no one ever will, because fundies don't deal in common sense. They just invent any kind of far-fetched "evidence" they please out of thin air to explain away any discrepancy. If the Bible said black was white, fundies would find some hairbrained way to rationalize it and continue to claim they've "proved" the Bible was right.
Ah yes. Justify one false assumption with another...round and round we go.
Get a clue! It's a huge fuckin' TURTLE, not four elephants!!1!

BWHAHAHA!
have made no false assumptions."
The Earth is six thousand years old, because the Bible says it is, and the Bible is an accurate source becasue it is not wrong when it says the world is six thousand years old.
though penned before the quran
At least the Koran (anglisized spelling, widely accepted) was written at the same time as the events it was supposed to bear witness to. (thats the new testament)

That's hinduism and its tortises not elephants smart guy.
I thought Terry Pratchett borrowed his worldview from Hinduism, not Islam, and that the Bible and the Quran are very similar to each other. Almost as if they were "penned" by the same deity, who didn't get it right the first (or rather second) time, but came back a third time, and now seems content...
Confused?
