“Oxygen has many of the same properties of God, you cant smell it, touch it, taste it or hear it, but does that mean it is not there?”
We ran experiments in high school to detect and measure oxygen.
“Of course it is there”
Speaking as a submarine sailor, it’s not always safe to assume that oxygen is where you need it to be.
"The only way that you can know that there is no God is to know everything about everything, which would *make* you omnipotent,”
You mean omniscient.
“ and if you know everything, then that would make you God.”
In Genesis, god said that after they ate frmo the Tree of Knowledge, they still needed to eat from another tree to be gods.
But i do not say that i am sure there’s no way any god could possible exist anywhere in the universe. I DO say that teh evidence offered so far for the gods of humanity is not compelling. So I’m atheist as a working hypothesis, not as an omniscient fact.
“Lianardo Da'Vinci once was quoted as saying, "In the absense of evidence of any other sort [the Bible and general nature] my thumb alone would convince me of a creator.”
If you’re going to quote someone, get their name right. You look stupid playing the ‘respect for authority fallacy’ if you don’t respect the authority enough to get his name right.
"one is how plants and animals change to fit a situation”
Both of them are about living things changing over time by mutation and selection.
Macro is just accruing enough micro evolution to exhibit big physical changes. it’s the change from a gazelle to a giraffe.
The distinction is just convenient for evolution research but A LIFE OR DEATH LINE for creationists.
